Tabata Timer
Hey there,

I finished my Tabata-Timer, got to fix some bugs but it should
still work fine (hopefully :o ).

I would be happy about some constructive criticism ;)

Re: Tabata Timer
The program works great! The very first time I ran it the first whip crack seemed out of sync, but I haven't been able to replicate that since. I think it was probably my PC having trouble warming up the old JRE; it doesn't get used much. :) I love the sound effects, too. Thank you for taking the time to create this.

Re: Tabata Timer
Hey Sean,

good to know that it works without any probs an Windows
cause I developed it on my Linux System :D

If you have any suggestions how I could do things better,
let me know ;)

Ps. who designed pukie? Hope I can use him as a Logo
cause the timer is naturally for free
currently I'm creating a mobil version of this....
I think its more effective than a PC version cause
its portable ;-)

Re: Tabata Timer
Will this translate to a PDA or Blackberry?

I have found myself using my Blackberry Curve in the gym more and more as a MP3 Player, timer, WOD and exercise info source, and historical recorder.

I was hoping to find a tabata timer program for the BB.

Thanks for the effort, it is appreciated!!

sure it will ;)

It's my way to say 'thank you' to Crossfit :D

Re: Tabata Timer
Hey Hans,

I know your job isn't tech support, but I can't seem to get it to run on OS X. I get the following error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/swing/GroupLayout$Group

If there's an easy fix, I'd love to have your program up and running! Thanks!

Re: Tabata Timer
Hey Jonathan,

no worrys I try to help as good as I can ;)

a friend of mine had the same probs on a Windows
I don't realy know how to handle OS X but the first question

what 'Java runtime environment' is installed on your system?

I don't know if there is JRE 1.6 for mac but try the newest for your

otherwise I could pass you the sources of the project so you
could compile it with netbeans on your system (and pass me
the compiled version so we have got one file for all the mac users
out there :D )

greetz Hans

Ps.: found something ;)

please keep me up-to-date if it's working or not :D

Re: Tabata Timer
Alright, Hans. I downloaded the Developer's Preview of 1.6, and I can now get it to run. However, this is not a good solution for everyone: to Download the beta, you need an Apple Developer account; then, running the jar file through the developer preview requires non-trivial use of the terminal, which the average mac user doesn't do all that often.

If you're willing to send me the source to attempt to compile it, I'd definitely be up for that. Why don't you send me a PM and we'll see if we can figure something out.
