it is the competition...putting a time on it is everything....in my opinion it is what makes it so effective...when two or more men, women can go head to head against each other, or against their best time of the past...makes us better, makes us what we are and in my opinion what this country of ours was built on.

last night david meyers a 94 kg lifter wanted to do grace.....62.5 kg (137.5 lbs)...cody's best time was 5:50 or so....david was adamant in beating cody's posted time....david did 3:14!!! cody was ****ed..he was working cln and jerks....stopped after david was done....put 62.5 kg on the bar.....did grace in 2:25!!!! holy batman!!! where did that come from.....competiton baby....bragging rights....that is where its at....AND------CROSSFIT RULES!!!!

2:25?!?!?!! Holy crap!!! That's an awesome time(as is 3:14).

Agree 100%.

I'm looking foward to the "girls" coming around a second time in a few months so I can look back and laugh....at myself.

Mike Burgener 04-29-2005 10:45 AM

what happened was this: the 5:50 was with a lifters clean and jerk...split jerk...cleans..etc...then david did the cln with a pwr jerk....WALA SAYS CODY..."i can use pwr jerks???" "yep", says i....let the competition begin!!!! cannot wait for david to do grace again!!!:proud:

Dead on Mike.

Lincoln Brigham 04-29-2005 11:30 AM

2:25 = a clean & jerk every 5 seconds.
What's the big deal? Piece of cake!*

*I'm kidding!
Great job, both kids.

I was out in California last week, and, along with swinging by HQ a couple of times (a truly wonderful experience), I also had my first chance to hit a WOD with my father, for Sunday's Cindy.

If you think men will die for points when competing against perfect strangers, you should see the level of competitive over-exertion achieved when there's a lifetime of shared genetics on the line.

The Burgener and Martin dynasties now make far more sense to me.
