Re: Over 50 Crossfitters Sign In
Haven't posted here in a few days. Fighting days where I feel great and others where I feel like garbage......It's like the old rig will start and run some days, not others...
Catch up with you all soon! Terry, Props on the 2 unbroken MUs! Best of luck at the Sectionals! You'll do great! Deb, Glad the rowing is starting to work for you. I actually got the info about slowing down and driving hard with the legs from Diane D. when she was taking her rowing class and posting some of the training info. It's amazing how much it has helped my sprints too; but now I just need some endurance so I keep the drive going through the full 500m..... Christin, I think you'd do great against the "young kids" too. I'll be watching for your scores in the Georgia Masters Regionals.... LOVE "Sight Gone Bad"....... |

Greetings from the winners of the childhood illness Hat Trick...(vomiting, poopy-butt, strep and ear infections AND upper respiratory stuff transitioning into pnuemonia). Man! We ran into 2 complete cycles of some funk that has kept me out of the gym (but relatively unscathed) for 14 days. If you count cleaning up kids and bed linens at 3:00 am exercise then I am the man. The kids are FINALLY back in school after 2 peds clinic visits and 1 ER trip. So, back at it....
Give 'em hell, Terry! Represent. 3-25-10 WU: C2 2k=9:29/WB shots/OH lunges/DH pullups/dips/BW squats/elevated ring pushups/#50 good-mornings WOD: 10 to 1/1 to 10 of BW Deadlifts (#185) Pullups Took it extremely slow and finished in 18:52.6 |

John Scott,
I have been there with you, man (regarding the childhood illness Hat Trick). I don't know how many cycles my wife and I have been through, but it has gotten to be a royal pain! 100326 FRIDAY Strength Work: Dead Lifts 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1. Worked up to and got 305# as a 1RM. (10# PR since my reset). WOD: "Randy" For Time: 75 X Power Snatch @ 75#/45# I scaled and used 55# because my snatch technique........well, I don't have any..... TIME: 7:42 FINALLY think I might have shaken the stomach bug. Today was the best I have felt in a workout in a while! |
Re: Over 50 Crossfitters Sign In
Terry, you make us all proud just by being there.
Did the 103026 Workout. 30 Muscles up for time. (Yeah! Really!). Went to Brand Crossfit X and found a scale: Jumping MU from standing position. I honestly thought this was better than the alternative: 150 Pull UPs and 150 Dips. Anyhow, finished in 5:38. Rings were just over shoulder height. |

Thanks, Jim The Claw. This sucked. WU: 1600m C2=7:19/stepups/ring dips/medball pushups/bar thrusters WOD: 100 Push Press w/ 10 pushups every minute on the minute I started with #85 PP and got to 30 before scaling to #75. Then I did 30 more reps and scaled to #65 and finished. Pushups were completed as Rx'd , but I had to break them up into sets of 5. Totally destroyed me and after 10 minutes I scaled to every other minute on the pushups. Time: 19:06 The only thing positive I have to report is that my Gymboss timer worked flawlessly. Cashed out with a 5 mile bike ride. |

Lay it down, brother. Seriously Terry, you have about 3 years on me, and my goal is/has been to be sorta/nearly as bada$$ as you by then. |
Re: Over 50 Crossfitters Sign In
Took the last three days off due to some personal issues. But back at it today. Not sure it hurt, my strength was through the roof on OHS today.
03/27/10: (2nd week, Wendler 5/3/1, OHS day) WARMUP— OHS 5x45, 5x55, 3x65 Full body stretch PVC rollovers and OHS STRENGTH— OHS 3x75 3x85 9x95 (F-10, couldn't keep weight stable in full squat position) (By Wendler's 1RM calculator, that puts mine at about 123, which would be a p.r. by 8 pounds) http://www.crossfitcenturion.com/centurion/1rm (WFS) WOD— 50 pushups 50 squats 50 behind the neck push presses Somewhere around 7-8 minutes. |

From the category of:
"Too much information, but I don't give a you know what" Had a follow-up visit with my doc yesterday, blood draw, weight, blood pressure, will get results of blood today or Monday most likely. So here are my results over my last few checkups: WEIGHT BP CHOL. HDL TRIGLYC. LDL VLDL GLUCOSE 06/26/08 226 NA 239 40 270 146 NA 90 01/22/09 228 122/78 258 44 324 149 65 UNDER 90 (STARTED CF 8/15, AND MODERATE PALEO 10/1) 11/2/09 221 122/80 283 57 214 183 43 UNDER 90 (INTENSIFIED PALEO 1/1) 03/26/10 207 122/78 ? ? ? ? ? ? After the last checkup. my doc put me on Crestor 10mg, which I took about every other day for about two months. I've since switched to red yeast rice extract (essentially herbal lovastatin) and Co-Q-10. So, I'm gonna guess at my numbers, see how close I get: TOTAL CHOL: 225 HDL: 70 TG: 115 LDL: 125 VLDL: 30 |
