I am a trainer at CF Rockford. Just wanted to share some feedback of the CF approach to some of the new guys/gals. Hopefully this will encourage everyone. Just started a new guy, mid 40's, about 6'2" 267, high BP, high cholesterol, hadn't exercised in years. Loved the idea of becoming fit as well as functional and athletic. 2 months later he's about 245, knocking out mostly unmodified workouts, just saw his Dr. and the Dr. interviewed him 40 min asking him what CF is all about because of his progress and excelerated improvement of health and wellness. Our goal is to get him off of all drugs related to BP and Cholesterol, sounds like that is right around the corner. Thats just a couple of months 2-3 times a week. Stay with it, focus on performing better and evrything else will happen naturally. No 2 hour walks or concentration curls here!

After I am able to complete the Crossfit warm up, is it advisable to add weight to increase the resistance of the exercises like dips?

The warm-up is usually a workout in the beginning. Just start to scale back the WOD's, there are many great recomendations for modifying exercises in the FAQ. Just make sure whatever exercises or modifications you are doing are done with perfect form. Always practice a weakness after the WOD. You'd be amazed how quickly you will improve. Good Luck.
