Crossfit 2011 Games

Would like to ask a few questions of someone who has been to the games before.
1. Do they notify you where and when to show up? (are you assigned a number?)
2. Do you have to buy a ticket to the games as well, or are you automatically allowed in because you are a participant?
3. Are you allowed a coach to assist you at the games with cues, etc?
4. Are there port-a-potties on site for those of us with nervous anxiety?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the Games, or the Regionals? And you're asking in terms of being a competitor, not just a spectator, right?

I am a competitor, and I am asking about the Games 2011 that will be held in Carson, CA this July 29-31, 2011.

Got any insight for me?

Re: Crossfit 2011 Games

I'm guessing you're Masters if you're already qualified for the Games and aren't worried about Regionals. In that case, from what I remember last year:

1. Yes, you'll be assigned a heat and told when and where your workouts are, though you may not know the whole schedule in advance. Last year they only told the Open competitors what the next workout was, nothing about how many or what the whole weekend schedule would be.
2. If you're competing you should be in free for the whole weekend. That was the case the last two years.
3. From what I remembered each affiliate team was allowed a coach but I can't remember if that was the case on the individual side as well. I vaguely remember something about each competitor getting a complimentary guest pass but could be wrong. Either way, if you've got a guest there, they'll be able to get in yelling range but won't be right next to you during the workouts or anything.
4. The Home Depot Center has plenty of for-real bathrooms. As for Regionals locations, it'll be a case by case basis.

Re: Crossfit 2011 Games

Thanks a million for the answers to my questions. Yes, I am in the Masters group, and working out with a couple of others that are from the Northwest Region. We are all curious and anxious to hear at least something.

I presume you must arrive the day before, and there will be someplace that they tell you to go and get your numbers?

Do they generally send you an email stating you need to show up at
Carson facility by certain time to be assigned your number, etc?

Thanks!

No clue, but I'm guessing since you already qualified and they've got your email address, you'll get details as soon as they're available. Til then I'd keep checking the Games website for updates.
