I frequently travel to the bay area and drive between san bruno and santa clara on a daily basis. I don't have my golds gym membership anymore (thanks to garage gym and so I can't use their facilities anymore. Anyone know of a good place on the peninsula (no time to drive to santa cruz unfortunately) where I could train just for the weekdays I am there? I've seen a few gyms in industrial parks around Menlo but have never investigated them. What about CrossFit San Jose? Is that up and running? I might want to drive there if so, as I'm not all that far in Santa Clara.

I may be COMPLETELY wrong here since i'm from overseas but is santa clara near la jolla?

If so there is a great kettlebell gym in la jolla thats worth checking out.

Uh, yes, you're a bit off . . .

Santa Clara = SF Bay Area = Northern California.

La Jolla = San Diego = south of Los Angeles (by Mexican border).

About 450 miles (700 km) apart. (But it still might be worth checking out .)

My only consolation in stuffing up Californias geography so badly is that apparently when news stories involving Australia run in the US they have to pull out a world map to explain where Australia is to most people

That's unbelievable, Don. I thought everyone knew it was next to Argentina...! :lame:

David Easton 04-28-2005 03:26 PM

Is australlia not next to germany??

Peter Galloway 04-28-2005 03:33 PM

No, you're thinking of Canada....

David Easton 04-28-2005 03:38 PM

Thats right, which is just south of America

James, I believe CF San Jose should be opening up soon. That would be your best 'CF' bet. Otherwise I can't really help you.

Don't apologize. The one and only time I made it to Australia (fabulous trip; if you can't have a good time in Australia, you're probably already dead), I was surprised to find it was a 3-1/2 hour flight from Sydney to Cairns (and another hour's drive to Port Douglas). . . I had vaguely assumed I could just sort of "drive up for the weekend" . . .
