Gladiator Wall

I am playing with making a DIY version of the Gladiator Wall. Something to mix up workouts with our wrestlers and gives us options when we are limited to inside workouts in the mat room.

My question for everyone is recommendations on how to attach the upward angled piece to the main frame. I constructed the wall ladder using 4x4s and have already angled both the main frame and the extension arms. I have a couple of ideas, but I thought I would see if anyone had better ideas.

My primary concern is that we will be putting a decent amount of force of the cross bar on the extension arms and I do not want it to give way.

below is a link you can see the actual design we modeled ours after.
