I cant beleive you stitched yourself up!!!!!!! Thats crazy!

Hope it heals so you dont lose any training time!
Eh we will see in a few min on my warmup.
Brilliant, if we cannot do minor surgery etc on ourselves we are doomed :highfive: Just keep it clean Nichols.
As you can tell I agree, man is so far removed from helping himself, every thing has to go to the Dr. Heck, you work on your teeth all the time, this is just a stitch.

Here is a pic of it (WFS) after leacing it uncovered all night to dry and scab. I will probably cover it for work, but at home keep it open to heal and dry.

Looks like a good job on the finger Nik, like you said we need to sort the things we can for ourselves, like with the mobility WOD, lots of stuff we know now that others will go to the physio / chiro for unnecessarily. Nik 'Rambo' Nichols

HAHAHA cathy called me that to. Heck it really only hurt a little. I pushed the needle in a bit deep and had to back up and go a bit shallower, it was easy.

You are right about helping ourselves. I am getting my mom on the mobility stuff for shoulder problems.

A.m. warm up
30 reps all
GHDs with 10 lbs
back ext with 25lbs
abmatt situps with 25lbs over head
pushups
OHSs with bar

rolled my back 3 min
calf stretch 2:00 min a side

10 close grip deadhang underhand grip ( hit 7 and my finger started weeping a bit, finished the set of 10) No pullups for a few days.

Swung the 1.5 pood KB for a few reps to see how my finger was. It was ok, we will see how it goes with the 2 pood at lunch. I will take it up too, to try to keep it together.

3 single deadhang MUs for fun. stressed my finger a bit but not as bad as the pullups.

Nice work on the stich Nik!

I totally agree that we (as a society) run off to the doctor for far too many unnessecary things! My family doesnt take that approach, we rarely spend time at the doctors office - unless we are sick (we usually try to look up homeopathic treatmennts, or do phone consults...so I guess we do a lot af DIY care at home too!).

No one ever gives anythought to the term check-up, do they.....?

"Im going to the doctor". "Why, are you sick"? "Nope"!

Bazar conversation!

Any way, whats the plan for lunch time today Nik?

Squats today, looking for 3set 2 reps over 300lbs. We will see how it goes.

then:
4 Rounds for time of:
•Run 400m
•20 Burpee Box Jumps (30/24")
•20 Kettlebell Swings(32/16kg)
as long as my finger holds.

Will do, I may have to take it easy on the swings for the finger, but I will go at it as hard as I can and IF it bleeds I will ease up a bit.

Squat I will hit hard. I tested out a light squat to see if my finger would be a factor, but it is not. I do a low bar grip so I do'nt wrap my fingers anr put pressure on them at all. I just hold the bar on the ''butt'' of my had, or heel of my hand.
3:00 break

no love for me. I was going to run a mile with Brady and do a small workout.....but instead I cut my middle finger on my right hand deep. I could see the fat inside the cut. I though I was going to have to go to the hospital and get stitches but I taped it and I had a needle and thread and gave myself a stitch.

So the bleeding is stopped but I figure it will be coming back to haunt me come the workout. We will see.
Rambo style right there Boy!

Didn't even see those other comments about Rambo or I would have chosen something else from back in the day like - John Matrix (Commando w/ Schwarzenegger).
