Strength Program
Hi All

I want to work on some strength training for awhile - leave CrossFit for a couple of months - maybe until January next year. Which programs are really effective for building strength? I'm only familiar with 5 / 3 / 1. I'm sure there are others. I don't want to spend hours in the gym. I find it quite tedious. So is there any program that's quick and effective that will help with the Oly lifting aspects of CrossFit when I go back (hopefully it's fun as well and not too complicated to follow).

Thanks in advance

Re: Strength Program
Do you really mean Oly specifically? i.e. Clean & Jerk and Snatch.

Or, are you talking strength generally, such as deadlifts, squats, press, bench, etc...?

Re: Strength Program
Sorry if I wasn't clear...generally Mark - deadlifts, squats, presses and so forth.

Re: Strength Program
Without knowing your strength levels now I can't make more concrete recommendations but here are some good ones.

Depending on your strength levels:

Starting Strength
Stronglifts 5x5
Bill Starr's 5x5
Bill Starr's only the strong survive
Texas Method
Juggernaut Method
Cube Method
Candito Linear Progression
Paul Carter's Base Building

I have been running 5/3/1 for a long time. You can easily find a excel template online where it calcs your lifts each week for you and ensures you are making progress with the deadlift, squat, press and bench.

Re: Strength Program
Starting strength, simple linear progression, enough volume where you feel like your doing something, and plenty of variety. Go get jacked.
