Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
Yes #1 and #3 are crazy hard..
The 200# place guy (45-49) put up a 12:49 on the #3.. must have a super fast Jackie.. basically two 6:30's in a row with adding 20# to the thruster and c2b instead of pull ups.. His 15.5 and 15.2 was not that good so gotta question that time or am I missing something. WTBS I have seen some great efforts out of people when the pressure is on. The snatch is straight forward. The #4 DL/BJ/HSPU with the new standard is a good one. |
Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
I think the 12:49 score you are thinking of for the #200 guy in the M45-49 is for event #4, the DL-BJ-HSPU, which would seem about right.
MQ#3 the row-thruster-c2b I think is going to be 14-20mins for M45-49. They should have made that #4, because I think everyone will do that one last anyway. |
Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
Mike Cook you are right.. that was for #4.. I was worried.
Yes 14 or 15 would be a super sweet time.. adding 20# to the bar and going C2B takes the broken out of un broken Jackie.. Going a second round turns it into a endurance met con. Just gotta keep on going. Resting on a bit. Cheers |
Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
I think the MQ wods were a good test of strength, skills and endurance.
A 1rm will always favor the bigger guys, but at least since it is a snatch, rather than clean or DL, it also tests some skill and mobility. Jacked up Jackie was way harder than I thought it would be. Took me about 20 minutes for heart rate to come back down to resting level. It will be interesting to see what comes up for regionals. Seems like lots of people are practicing HS walking and complicated pull up-ttb-bmu complexes. I have a feeling regionals could be something completely different. For example: KB snatches+KB OHS+KB pistols. |
Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
yes hang on to your gymnasty skills.. I am sure that the regionals will test some things that people need to work on.. Great Job Mike Cook on the Master's qual. Was so much harder than last year.. 3k more old dudes coming into the mix..

Master's and Teens on the soccer field? I have seen people saying so.. read the blurb about the tickets... it is for sure true?
If so wonder how that will effect the events.. ? Will be a super big place with a lot of seats empty... Mid line march type of things.. or might they just set up a rig and put some heavy mats down.. running in the stadium like the individuals.. Will be interesting to see what happens. |

Did you hear it anywhere else? I don't see how they could do all the setup (equipment set up and run throughs, camera blocking for the media team) that goes into the team and individual events while the masters are there. |
Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
Maybe the Games will only be at the Soccer or Tennis venues, and not the track?

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread
Yes it was a claim by one person.. I don't know anything except the ticket for sale info did not mention the Track.. Guess we will see right..

"With the six-day general-admission wristband, a fan can watch all of the of the masters, teenage and team competitions, as well as the majority of the individual events. "
Sounds like they are charging to see the masters and teens also. Hope they open the vendor village sooner.. would be cool. Crossfit people can't get enough of crossfit.. give them what they want.. |
