My Garage Gym

Just thought id share my space. The only thing I'm really missing (besides a taller ceiling ;)) is a rower which I'm picking up on tuesday.

Ben, is that the powerline pss60x squat rack? I've been thinking of getting one of those from sams. how stable is it with all that weight?
maybe you know this already, but you could use floor flanges to hang some of those bumpers on the wall.

Hey Luis - yes its the same rack (although I think remarketed by Jesup Gym where i bought it). I've had several 300-700lb loads on it and it's held up just fine.

And you can't see it but I've got a wooden plate storage rack on the other side of the platform.

Another thing I plan to do in the next few days is lay out the plywood into an actual platform. I've got enough materials, but had put it this way in the beginning not knowing how much space I'd have for my wife's car in there/

is the pink toy jeep used as a pulling sled?

I like the 2x4 "box". Is it stacked in sections for adjustability or nailed into one big frame?

That's the distraction for the kids while I train haha.

And the "box" is just stacked. I had a bunch of old lumber laying around and just threw something together that was sturdy and able to use for multiple things.

Yeah you can use it for box jumps.

The pullup bar is 3 2x6's on either side sandwiched onto the ceiling joists. The bar goes through the center of the 2x6's via paddle bit. It was quick and easy, except for the crawling around in the attic thing, haha.

Ben,

Nice work! I'm investigating a way to include a rope in my garage gym with a similar ceiling; i like your simplified approach. what rope did you pick up, how do you use it (ie sitting start, arms only), and how do you like it?

Hey lars

I grabbed the 1.5"manilla rope from mcmaster carr.

I usually start from seated or lying on my back. I'd love to have a full space but this works for now
