Do clubbells work to increase striking power/skill? Are they worth the investment? If not what would you recommened (in addition to quality training) would you invest in to grow this attribute?

My thought... practice hitting more. Along with CF, perfect practice with a qualified coach will do what you need/want to get done... IMO.

Clubbells will help develop the physical attributes you need to strike. Greater strength, speed, endurance, mobility, breath integration, balance, coordination, leg drive... you name it. Once you have developed a solid foundation of basic Clubbell skills, check out a manual called "Going Ballistic: CST for Boxing" which specificly addresses Clubbell training for striking as written by boxing coach Brandon Jones.

That said, you will also need to spend some quality time working your punching, preferably with a good coach and/or partner. For some great instruction in solo and partner drills, check out the "Fisticuffs" series from RMAX.

PS - Clubbells have also done some amazing things for my weapons training. I can hold my own against stickfighting specialists of advanced rank though I haven't really focused on it for a long time. Compared to a CB, sticks feel like toys that are easily wielded.

IMO

Clubbells are better for weapons then pure striking. For a stick/knife fighter I would put them above KBs as a supplement to CF. Also very good for grapplers due to the grip/wrist work. For a striker I'd look to the heavy bag, plyos and med balls.
