Do any of you have trouble with a graphic made in Photoshop not staying up in the banner/header of your page? I keep getting an empty spot with the error X box in the upper left-hand corner of the header box like when an image cannot be displayed. Its irritating me beyond belief as I have little patience for technological problems. Anyone know how I can fix it? Blogger's tech support sux balls.

Re: Blogger Users

maybe it has something to do with where the photo is hosted?

Andrew Bueno 12-10-2007 03:17 AM

Re: Blogger Users

Did you upload the file directly to blogger or onto another photo hosting site? If it not directly uploaded to Blogger, I would upload it there (or reload, if that's the case)

I have tried both uploading directly onto blogger and then tried using the photo from another host (Photobucket). They both worked for me, but someone said that they weren't able to see it properly when I had the photo hosted elsewhere.

Re: Blogger Users

I'll try reuploading it. I have it loaded directly to Blogger from my computer. I did not have it hosted.

Randy- I had the same problem. I use typepad. I had to upload the picture file via control panel / files and make sure the html referenced that uploaded file.

Blogger hosts it and their support is next to nil. I want to talk to live person, not chat group, not emailing constantly, a ****ing person! It makes me wanna :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Have you tried the tips on one of the non-official Blogger help sites? In a former life, I used Blogger and found some good info on http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspo...elp-guide.html (WFS)

Looks like you fixed it Randy. Nice job

And you have a great-looking logo!

Re: Blogger Users

Not sure how you updated. Usually there's an original file that can be manipulated directly in Photoshop and the switch won't have to be shown anywhere in the code since the filename is the same.

Work on the background to make it black since now it's a dark shade of grey.
Good logo!
Also you might want to add a bit of thickness to the feet of the guy - he looks like he's wearing socks.

Yeah, the socks! I didn't make the file nor do i have Photoshop. I'll work on getting it done though. I have another logo in mind that I might try. I'm irritated that I don't know how to use PS and Illustrator.

Official Blogspot Help Thread

I know many people use Blogger.com (Blogspot) to host their page. I find their help/support to be severely lacking. If the paid services offer better help, than I can see why people pony up and pay, even if its a nominal cost. So this post is for Blogspot users who need help to post questions and hopefully get useful feedback.

If I were you I would pay the 5-10 bux and by a domain name to shorten the web address. It's easier for your clients to remember. I hate their tech support, but the software is really easy to use.

Yope. Usually links are represented as a list of items. It's normally and even good coding to do so.

For your forms, check out this site (w/f safe). All your html/css resources are on this site and it's really a good site for web coding basics.

Enjoy and good luck!

I was just looking how to do this, awesome.

Thank You Rahsaan!

BTW, I just uploaded a 3 column template. More opportunity to monetize with the extra column.

Does this still work if the image is on my hard drive? Can't seem to get it to work. I know it's me, and not the code.

Found it.

Post the pic in a blog post then copy and paste the pic html into the code Rahsaan posted above.

Hope that helps, sorry if it's confusing.

Is there a way to track how many hits your site gets?

Bruce (BJ) Bliffert 12-16-2007 03:25 PM

Re: Official Blogspot Help Thread

we use www.sitemeter.com (wfs), it's free. all you need to do is copy and paste the html into a "new page element". you can then just click on the meter and get your stats.

I got it here:

http://webtalks.blogspot.com/2007/04...w-blogger.html (wfs)

You just download the XML file, make sure you save it to your hard drive. Then upload it following the direction on blogger.

mine look like this, still a work in progress not totally happy with it yet:

I tried copy and paste for just the code but it didn't work. I then downloaded the XML to my desktop, then using the "change html" function on blogger I uploaded the new XML template, worked well but you will lose any "page elements" you created like link lists, text, etc.

What web browser do you use. I had no problem just opening the file using Mozilla, when I tried copying and pasting.

You just copy the code and paste it into a new Page Element (HTML page element). Once you get it you'll be like "oh, that was easy."

yeah, sometimes it (W/F/S labeling) gets taken a lil' over the top. This one was pretty evident by the name of the site....I thought.
