Nik thats *****ing awesome! You say you have trouble doing 2pood swings when your doing 56 2pood single arm snatches! I'm really glad that you got through this man! :notworth:
What did you think the hardest part was?

Ha!? It never even crossed my mind! But the Barbell was going straight up, not swinging. I really focused on good form on the snaches. butt down chest up, not deadlift form. I had to stop myself from yanking the bar with my arm bent from the ground. I ''squeezed'' it off the ground and gave a huge hip drive so to have little to no press.
I'd drop the bar and use my other hand to catch and stablize the drop.

Snaches and lunges were about the same, maybe lunges were harder, but even there I had an advantage. I had to put two 25lbs metal plates on a one hand curl bar to get the 55 lbs. Our 25's have holes like all metal plates have, so I would swing the thing up and rest it on my back like squats with the weights on my shoulders and touching my ears, and hold on to the holes. But it was hard to keep lunging, real hard.

I rested to much on the snaches. But they got to be fun once I got the hang of it, but they were one at a time, 3 breaths lenth at least inbetween. I missed some and it took me to long to ''reset'' and try again.

Great grueling work out. I liked it. It pushed my limits. I thought the squats were going to be easy, but after the lunges they were really hard, and I had to really focus on depth and form, second and third set broken to 6 reps, forth in 3 sets of 4.

I am seeing in myself that I can keep going but I don't. I can do it faster but don't. I see you and the other guys as atleast a step or two a head of me. Stronger faster ect.
That thought already get's me to thinking I may not beable to do the workout. I find when I'm done that I can do it fine and I should have gone faster. I doubt myself and it slows me down.

Lesson learned. Now I need to apply it.

It was a sweat fest, I was drinched.

Re: Nik

Weighted pull-ups 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

thease were head/chin over, underhand grip. I really made sure to get a solid height, not looking up and just getting my chin over. Head straight chin over.

1. 90lbs
2. 90lbs
3. 90lbs
4. 90lbs
5. 95lbs
6. 100lbs
7. 100lbs
last time weights were 30,40,55,65,75,85,90.
90 went up pretty well. I had to kick at the top inch or so to be sure of good height, but it wasn't to bad.
I was thinking 90 was going so good that on round 5 I would start going up in hopes of 105lbs. 95 was ok. 100lbs was really freaking hard. I wasn't sure on roud 7 of it goping up. I was at the top of the pullup for a bit trying to kick
up the last little bit. I kicked like 3/4 time till I was happy with the pull.

Like Scott I did weighted dips on the rings with the vest on (30lbs) for 15 reps (not in a row) Man that was a killer.

Agreed, no wonder your unweighted is so strong Nik.

Right! My glutes hurt to sit down, cannot believe you guys have not experienced DOMS from Jesse's workout, quads are a little stiff but I just had a bath and had to lower myself in real gently so not to kill my backside!!

Scott I got you by 1 lbs ony just. That weight was tough to kick my chin over, I could pull to with in 2 inches and stall out, I had to kick up the last bit. It would have been funny to see. ''kick kick, kick'' for one inch.

Thats the way I did it pull then frog kip up to the top like in 2 or 3 bounces. Managed to straight pull my head over the bar on about 70lb.

For time:
Row 1000 meters
95 pound barbell Thruster, 21 reps
21 Pull-ups
Row 750 meters
95 pound barbell Thruster, 15 reps
15 Pull-ups
Row 500 meters
95 pound barbell Thruster, 9 reps
9 Pull-ups

If you do not have a rower, replace row efforts with a 1 mile run, 800 meter run and a 400 meter run.

I subbed the run, warmup was the usual with MU's

Time was 22:39. I don't know what a good time was, but I really pushed. Throat burning, dropping the bar because I couldn't get a rep. 3rd run was the worst at the start.
second set of thrusters were the worst.

Nik I just read your post on my log and I really dont know what a good time is either. Looking at the main page posts, we are definitely on the faster side of the curve. But all that really matters is that you push hard and it looks like you pushed damn hard. :highfive:

Great job nik, I wonder if the run sub was easier or harder than the sdhps god I hate them lol. I couldn't do the run cuz the treadmills and pullup bars are on opposite ends. Definitely a lung burner

Thanks man, I'm happy with it, I was just wondering is all. I'm slow with thrusters, it is one of my weaknesses. I'm just realizing where I can go harder no and was wondering what a good time was.

Thanks, I think the sumos would be more tireing for the pullups and thrusters. I think the run was a break from the other movement. In saying that, the run and then thrusters was a lung burner. My throat is still sore from it a little.

It's a crazy coincidence that this popped up on the mainpge today. Guess you got to see for yourself what a running twist on Fran can do. It was horrible with 1200m but 2800m had to be hell on earth. Nice work fella.

Thanks Scott. I have been really trying to work the intenisity(as you know) So I am starting to realize my description of the WOD's have changed and are more of how hard I tried, I'm making them sound trrreble, but it is not like that, it is more to remind myself thaty I can push past more now.

On a personal note. My lower back is a little sore from the running fran, not so much from the thrusters, but cleaning the bar with bad form from the ground. I will strech out in a bit, it should be fine. Just sorness.

Be careful today on the squat cleans as they can catch your lower back out if you do not stretch it make it warm firstly. Glad to see the intensity is coming in. I think my recovery is coming along well as I just lost my temper slightly, always a good sign :D

HAHA only go a little mad huh? I will be warming up at 10 and pre warm up befor the WOD. I will be really focused on form today. I will push as hard as I can, but today form will be a bigger focus.
Like I could really go at it halfway any way. Once we say go it is as hard as I can. I am just finding that there is area I can keep pushing.

Elizabeth"

21-15-9 reps of:
Clean 135 pounds
Ring dips
WU as usual
time 17:00 even

LAST TIME 25:17!!

I thought I was sucking this one up pretty bad, I didn't check my time from befor till after the WOD. I fell under the weight a bunch of times, at least 7 misses, but didn't count. I could pull the weight fine but would collapse in the squat at the bottom. I got it under controll in the end of the second round.

Crossfit LA said to scale it to get it done in 17 min cutoff, I was suprised to see my time, it felt longer.
Thanks Brady for pulling me off the ground and back to the bar for another rep. You really pushed me through it!!
