I trained at Carolina Crossfit (wfs) today! It was great seeing everyone, particularly Wendy.

I did 2 workouts:
10 minute warm-up with my bike on the trainer and.
Tabata intervals with the nike on the trainer.
This was brutal, tabatas hurt so good! And I want to thank Stephanie for timing me. These are really hard to do alone because the oxygen deprivation makes watching a clock near impossible.

After I rested I did a WOD that Paul came up with.
21 Deadlifts at bodyweight (135lbs)
4 rope climbs
15 Deadlifts
3 Rope Climbs
9 Deadlifts
1 Rope Climb

Time: 15:40

I was supposed to do 6 climbs the first round but my legs were getting bad rope burn. I ended up finding a pair of PJ pants before round 2 of the climbs.
My triceps and lets are sore!

I have a flickr account now, and I was messing around with some of my pictures. I figured I'd show them here.

These were taken in early March during Cindy:

Nice! Love the bike picture, and the bottom one used to be your avatar, right? (Before you grew GIANT legs, that is.)

Ride:
1 hour
14 miles

I did 2 sprints using a hill to get me to speed. I maxed out at 37.24. I think I can hit 40mph with the proper gearing.

Squats:
5 sets of 3 reps @ 170lbs
2 reps @ 175

I stalled out at 180 in the hole.

Front Squats:
3 x 95
3 x 115
3 x 135
3 x 140
2 x 145

I have never worked up to that much weight in the FS, I honestly think I might be able to front squat more than I back squat in a few months, it's weird. I still need more wrist flexibility, though. Working on it.
I have some marks where the bar was sitting, so I'll have to take some for Melissa since she is taking pictures of hers for me.

I love that picture of you. You look slightly startled, which is my favorite thing about it.

My shoulder bruises are somewhat obscured by the color I got this weekend from being out in the sun. I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to see how they develop - I want to be able to show the best bruises possible, and I think by then they'll be nice and purple.

Nice job on the front squats, I want to be able to move your weight.

Re: Trent's Log

Okay, so the bruising never really lived up to its full potential, which is disappointing because if I poke the tops of my shoulders, it hurts. No pictures today. Well, I suppose I could post a picture, but it would be of something other than front squat damage, which is not what I promised you.

Re: Trent's Log

Well, that's disappointing considering that they still hurt. Mine did the same disappearing act but they still smart to the touch. I couldn't find the cord to the camera I was going to use so I can't take pictures anyways. You should feel free to post pictures even if they are not the promised ones. You are one of my CF heros, and really terribly good looking as well.

I wasn't startled, lol, I was experiencing severe oxygen debt. Cindy is one of my favorite girls, and she was beating me to a pulp.

Musing:
Allison Bishop did a Muscle Up without a false grip. I can't set the false grip so I need to see if I can join the MU club with a standard grip. I need a place to hang my rings as well.

Speaking of rings, check out this video of Yuri Van Gelder. Freaking amazing strength and upper body definition, but his legs are so small, haha.

Further Musing:
I wanted to post a picture of what I looked like in September. This was taken before the USMC Mud Run. That is what I looked like after 7 months of riding and racing my bike while neglecting any strength training. Of course, you can see what 4 months of CF and heavy lifting will do to a body.

Re: Trent's Log

Wow. I can't believe the difference - you look significantly more muscle-y now. How much did you weigh then, versus now?

Here is a picture from Sunday, when I hung my rings up under the deck at home. The lighting under my deck must be magical, because I don't really look like this. But I think I'm going to have this picture blown up, framed and hung in our dining room anyway.

I don't really have a lot of "before" pictures, but the pics I took with AllisonNYC at the beginning of March definitely show a big difference in my muscle tone. And that's just six weeks.

You are very nice to say those silly things. I'm blushing.

Tuesday Night Training Crit:
Dist: 17 miles
Avg Speed: 24+
Max Speed: 33.94 :yikes:
I didn't ride the whole race, it was windy and fast again. There were some spots where the pace was really erratic, though. I really want to be able to stay in the whole time. I think I need to do an easy ride after lifting heavy on Monday.

This video is the one to which I forgot to link earlier.

I was weighing in at 127.5lbs at 5% bodyfat in September. I was 135lbs/4% BF in the Cindy Picture. I'm sitting at 136/4% right now, but my composition has changed slightly with a little less mass in the upper body and bigger legs. (I over-analyze every aspect of my training, I think).

I think you look really good in that picture, wow! I'm sure the camera does not lie. I don't know if you have a significant other, but if you do, I'm sure he wouldn't mind putting that picture in the dining room!
I don't know I've seen those pictures of you and Allison.

Hey now, those things I said are not silly!
