I just got home from the gym today after doing the Crossfit Total for the first time and I set 3 PRs. 251lbs squat, 143 shoulder press, and 330 deadlift. Im 6'4" 245lbs and I have been at crossfit for a little over 2 months now. I said I would be happy with a score over 700 and I hit 724 so Im excited. Sorry I had to let someone know I hit 3 records today and I usually get blank stares from my friends when I tell them of my crossfit accomplishments.

Congrats, Mike. I expect your numbers will continue to go up. Just make sure you're getting proper rest and chow, too.

Dale, I need to get my diet worked out. I was doing pretty well till 4th of July came along. Im going to try to get into the zone though. Ive got about 20-25 lbs I want to lose. Ive got alot of room for improvement in the squat...Id like to get my Total score over 800 and with an increase in my squat to over 300 I would be getting pretty close.

Even though my body isnt where I want it yet after only 2 months of crossfit I feel stronger, faster and more powerful than when I was in "great shape" in college.

Way to go, Mike. You should make big jumps throughout the first year. Like Dale said, continue to eat, even if you're trying to lose weight. As a big guy, your bodyweight will probably stay the same for awhile, though the muscle-to-fat ratio will change drastically. Don't get hung up on what the needle says.

Grant, I dont really go by what the scale says...Im more concerned about body fat % than how much I weigh. I have a connection to be able to get a DEXA scan to track my progess in that department.

Im also going to get a copy of starting strength to try and make some more improvements on my power lifts.

Way to go Mike! I also hit 3 PR's on the CFT this week and I've been giddy ever since, hehe. This is the only place I can tell people who understand how incredible that feels. My wife just nods and smiles, LOL.

Congrats on the progress!

P.S. Just ordered Starting Strength yesterday myself :-)
