Jason's Log
I have to train hard and swim. I have to improve my swimming a lot, since I've only been swimming for 2-3 months. I've been slacking lately and doing a lot of studying. I need the extra motivation of keeping a workout journal here.

I currently have an injury to my left wrist from Muay Thai and grappling. Lifting made it worse. Right now my lifeguard training is irritating it, but I'm working through it.

My goal is to get back into crossfit shape and become a better swimmer as well as let my wrist heal. I will have probably have to sacrifice going out with my friends a couple times a week. But as of right now my fitness goals matter more to me.

If I miss a day for whatever reason, feel free to motivate me by sending me an email or PM. I don't think I will though.

Swam 300m.

160 continuous, then the rest broken up into 40m intervals. Not much, but keep in mind a few months ago I couldn't swim over 10 meters.

ME DB Push Press (Right Hand, left injured)


Failed on my 1st attempt at 100lbs. Probably b/c I was only resting 1-1:30mins between sets. I rested 3-5 minutes before the last attempt. I'll post a video of me push pressing a 100lb dumbell or heavier. Just so everyone knows I'm not BSing. I'm happy about that 200lbs overhead has been a goal for a while. I had trouble getting the dumbell to my shoulder so I reflexively grabbed it with my left hand, maybe injuring it further again.

I also have a slight hip injury from stretching a little too far.

[B]Bodyweight is 156lbs with 12.5% bodyfat according to the scale.[/B] I've lost about 9 pounds but have gained strength.

I'll be tossing martial arts back into the mix after my injuries heal.

300 meter swim, water treading, etc.

Lots of swimming stuff. The spinal rescue (head and chin support) is a pretty challenging way to swim. Good news is that I passed the test and will be getting my certification soon.

Run for unknown distance and time.

Taking it easy b/c I'm sick. The run was relaxing and ridiculously easy. I felt strong and my calves felt springy. I felt like I could have kept going all night long. I didn't feel the ab work affected my running at all to my surprise. I can't wait until this wrist injury is gone so I can function like a normal human being again! I miss pushups, pullups, punching, rolling, carrying stuff, and opening doors without pain. My diet is bad right now. I had two alcoholic beverages (I don't know what they were called) yesterday and have been drinking soda, eating cookies, etc. I have to clean my diet up. It's still not as bad as other people's, but come on I want to do better than that :).

Score: 3, 12?, 17?

1 arm pullup negatives




Push Presses

Didn't keep track of any scores, besides the pushups. The 1 arm pushups were hard as heck. Worked on my MMA stance, blocks, punches, kicks, checks, etc. I have to remember knees and elbows. My diet is cleaner. Ozzy and Mudvayne rock! That's what's in my Ipod.
