A couple weeks ago I heard about www.freecycle.org

This group's members give stuff away and/or receive it, both for free. I believe the driving principle was to reduce waste ( ie; "recycle" + "free",) and the strain on resources so much unnecessary garbage causes. Obviously, there are other principles at work here as well, ie; giving your "useless" to create someone else's "useful".

Anyway, saw this post below, of potential interest to anyone near Nassau County, NY:
( Despite the word "advertisement", the foundation principle is that everything is free.) Even if this post does not work for mostly everyone on CF, you may want to peruse your local chapter's listings or give away your own stuff.

I gave away a thoroughly used,(and outgrown,) but still quite usable, double jogging stroller this a.m. by leaving it outside my house for the recipient to pick up. Feels good to "pay it forward."

Stay Strong,

Eddie

Great site. $6,200 is way high for P-bars. I've never heard of a new set costing that much. $4k max really. Anyhoo, free is an excellent price.

Thanks Eddie!
Went to the site and signed up for the local branch of Freecycle!

Edward,

Good link - thanks. If I would have known about it just a week earlier I would have been able to pick up one of those side-to-side glider thingies (the one's that simulate rollerblading/iceskating). Might have been a nice sub for running when we start getting snow on the ground. I'll have to keep my eyes open.

Thanks again,

Ryan
