As mentioned in a previous post, after leaving dairy behind for over a week I gave cottage cheese a try for old time sake and discovered how tasteless it was.

Just today though, after doing the same thing with oatmeal, I too discovered how tasteless it really is.

I love oatmeal, but would never use the word delicious for it. I find it funny that you left it aside for a while, then come back to it and find that you don't like the taste. It always tasted like paper mache to me!

As it turns out, what I enjoyed was the warm texture of it... I figured a sweet potato with some cinammon will be better for me :-)

On the other hand, I love the taste of oatmeal. Steel cut specifically, with a little salt, coarse ground black pepper, garlic, and whatever meat I have available.

and yes, my family and the people that I work with are absolutely appalled by this

I add whey powder, ground flax seed, frozen berries and some kind of nut. Makes a nice kind of gruel but way better tasting than straight oatmeal.

I take it you are going more Paleo, so this begs my question:

How are you getting enough carbs to make up your blocks?

The sheer amount of vegatables to eat paleo and zone is simply staggering and physically impossible for me.

Not complete Paleo actually, I eat my beans, sweet potatos, yams, and ever so often some rice and pasta. :-) So I'd say more

Zone/Semi-Paleo! heh
