I had that problem for awhile. Two things I noticed that helped were:

1. Posting everyday
2. Putting words on the blog that would be comkonly searched for by CFers and fitness people.

Lately my page is coming up in the top 10, if not the top 3-5. You have to get an analytics tool and understand the info you receive from it.

You can also use Google's AdWords tool and check the supply and demand of words and phrases. It only gives you a bar graph reading, but it's free and gives you an idea of how many other people may be using the same keywords as you, it could keep you from getting lost in a sea of common keywords.

Name your images if you post pictures. Instead 1025485.img, which what our camera gives us, we re-name it to kettlebell-swing.img. Google may find you if someone does an image search.

Post Youtube Vids. Both Blogger and Youtube are owned by Google. It has a tendency to favor these two sites in it search results..at least it's our experience.

Hope that helps.

Does anyone know if you can make your page wider? You only get the middle ~60% of the page, and part of that goes to post, while part goes to a sidebar. I'd like to increase the tables to ~80%. There's probably something in the "Edit HTML" page, but I have no idea where to look.

Subj: Google Analytics
The code you get from your account will not work with new Blogger Beta accounts. Rather, insert this code into an HTML/Javascript widget at the bottom of your page.

<script type="text/javascript">
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-###-1");
pageTracker._initData();
pageTracker._trackPageview();
</script>

It's a very detailed, and free, hitcount tracker.

You can still use the AdWords tool to finds words and phrase to include in your content and/or headlines or even to come up with topics to blog about.

After all, its free.

patrick-

go into the code for your template, and find width.

will be in terms of '644' or something. Make it a little bigger, and then preview. It took me forever to find it, but it was worth it!

Does anyone know how to host a

*** PDF, WORD, or Excel ***

file into a post, such that readers can then download them?

I want share these files types with my readers and clients, without emailing them all to them!
