I like this one. I'll try it at Crossfit DC in a month.

Hey Charlie, I know just enough German to translate that as "my struggle" . . . but I'm also old enough to remember that it has a very different meaning to another generation.

Any reason why you chose that name?

Shawn Casey 07-20-2006 09:53 PM

Hitler wrote a book by that name, right?

Andrew G. Greenberg 07-21-2006 06:28 AM

dude what's up with the Hitler reference? are you making some sort of political commentary about the current situation in the mideast? if so please reserve it for the rest days and not in the boards.

Don't worry about Charlie guys, he may not be PC but he certainly is not trying to provoke anyone or make any political statements. I understand your sensitivity but he was definitely not intending that reaction.

Tried this one last night with 16kilo bells, minus the slams(no ball).

Wow i hope i didnt offend anybody with that title...it is indeed derived from hitler's book meaning "My struggle", however it has no political or significant meaning attached to it from my end. I was just searching for a name to match the eastern bloc names that my co-conspirators were coming up with. This workout was an amalgamation to a back-and-forth workout we've had here at S&C...we keep trying to outdo each other by adding more stuff to it or beating each other's times.

The original workout has a title that cannot be mentioned on this board due to the vulgarity, but it started out as 3 rounds of 5 double snatch, 10 clean and press, 15 double swings with the 16kg. or 20kg. bells. Then one of the strength coaches made the "death march", which was that plus 15 bw squats, 10 pushups and 5 chins. Then i added this chipper as my permutation with the 24kg. bells. Again, apologies if i offended anybody here, my humor can be sometimes brash and politically incorrect, but i assure you it's completely benign.

Maybe a new chipper in the works: (w/24kg. KBs)

5 Double snatch
10 Clean and Jerk
15 Double Swings
20 FSQ
30 Pushups
40 Situps
50 Ball Slams
75 Sprawls (basically burpee without pushup)
100 BW Squats

Anybody that can sub-10 that is a mutant.

get some.

Charlie Reid 07-21-2006 01:29 PM

BTW-Congrats to you Joe. If you didnt have a ball to slam, you can always do burpees or sprawls instead. They seem to be a reasonable metabolic equivalent (i.e.-they both put the suck meter in the red)
