I would have gotten a few more DL in @ 15-185lb!!!! I may try to do RX 18.4 on Sunday. If I get thru 21 225DL, I'll have fun with a few HSPU attempts!!! Thing is my left hip is killing me...... |

I'm thinking I might go see the doctor and get a physical. Get some blood work done and check for various levels on things. Has anyone else gone through a similar experience? I usually very resilient to life's challenges but this year is getting me down. |

Did 18.4 RX today. Only got 21 DL @ 225lb. I just could get even 1 HSPU and I've done one before.... Did better on the DL then I thought I would.
Tim- Good Idea to go to the DOC and get things checked out. I never went to the Doc., when I hit 50 I've tried to get a Physical every year. I'm 54, and also have found "work" is not the same after 36 years of IT work. I have a new boss, that I don't match up well with. I know thats a big part of my problem. But, I realize I am changing.......I don't like going to work every day. I'd like to quit and do contract work, so I could take breaks in between gigs. The good thing here Tim, is you see it and realize you need to look in the Mirror and figure things out. Patrick |

We have had a stomach-flu in our family, 5 of 6 got it:mad: I decided to skip the hole 18.4 but my wife encouraged me to go and do at least something..even feeling still weak. So i did go and thought i do few deadlifts with that 225lbs Some warmup, some curls and tri presses, light romanian deads. Then 225lbs on the bar and rep,rep rep...nonstop to 21 and thought, now i go home. Before i did go i still watched the video and noticed, only 20 reps. So i did a second set to do those 21 reps full. Tim, like Bill said it looks from your workouts your ok. Teachers job is not an easy one, i respect the teachers :notworth: If you check some bloodtests, i would ask for vitamin-D and testostereone level. How much sunlight do you have over there, are you eating xtra vit-D? I consume at winter time (like many i know who trains regulary) a 100uq a day for some 5 days/week, at least 50uq. It really is a psych-med for lots of people, for me too. Pine pollen, fenugreek, mucuna puriens powder are good natrulal testo-boost giving energy and good mood. If i feel "overtrained" (mood down, irritated, sleep bad) or so, for several days in a row, i buy a bottle of pine pollen powder, or mucuna powder and consume it and it usually works fine. I belive in those. Hopefully you feel yourself soon again! |

3.23.2018 Friday Did 18.5 RX I got 39 which I'm happy with. 100lb Thrusters are tuff for me!! I have to do a few rounds heavier prior to the go to make 100lb "fee" better. C2B I was able to do a few "kipping" then I think the thursters got me more tired then I thought, I had to do STRICK C2B!! Crazy!! Lucky for me I can do them STRICT. Hit another thruster PR Thursday nite 125lb. Sun 25 March C2 row 15 min - 3317m Pulldowns, rubberband work som presses and thrusters for warmup 18.5 Thrusters and pullup... With bad knees and slightly tight shoulder this was nothing to enjoy... Actually i think this was the first time ever i did a thruster from deep squat position. My plan and belive was that i'll Rx, and i'll do the 3s and 6s and 9s, anything beyond that is a plus...i did those + 7thrusters = 43reps My son was with me (he turns 15 tomorrow)..when the time run out and i finished, i sat down and first thought's..i said to him...bad condition, should have to be able to do more...he answered... : - huh dad...with your knees..and your tight shoulder...how many do you think you're brother would have done? : - i said, not even one thruster. Jeah, my son said.. you are though man dad... Guess how good that sounded :pepper: My first Open. My goal was to be abel to do every workout, at least to some point...so it was ok. And to do at least one workout Rx. I actually did 3 workouts Rx, even because the stomach flu we had i did the 18.4 only the first deadlift, if i would have been normal i'll probably would have done 18.4 scaled. So goal accomplished - happy man :) |

Had a nice weekend with friends and the wife. We stayed in a cabin near Hocking Hills.

Later this evening... THE WALK You start at 0 degrees on a treadmill and go up by 1 degree every minute until you hit 15 degrees. Repeat the minute at 15 degrees and return to 0 degrees minute by minute reversing the process on the way up. You must cover 2 miles. If you don't make 2 miles you've failed the test. No running. Walking only. Weight vest - 10kg for men, 6kg for women. I didn't use any extra weight. No holding the rails of the treadmill. My heart rate topped out at 157 bpm. Speed was 4 mph. I need to do this more often. Thanks Patrick! JT used to call my muscle ups my superpower. He said we all have one. |

Tue 27 March Easy swimming 500m Some strech and watermassages at therapy pool afterwards Sat 31 March I was at a StreetWorkout course, 2hour session where we learned skills for muscleups, pullups, pushup variations,handstand learning, pistolsquats etc Fun. Sun 1 April Pullover and press (holding one Kb with both hands) 8kg Kb: 20,15reps 16kg: 10,10reps Kb swing: 8kg: 15,15reps 16kg 15,15reps Muscle up practise -swing with rubberband 5,5,5reps One arm row with Kb 32kg (ca70lbs) : 10,10,10,10,10reps Floor press with KB's 24kg: 10,10reps Kb swing 24kg: 12,12,12,12,12reps Some strech and planking to finish. Parick, your 10,8,6,4,2 deadlift reminded my deadlift program i used to do few years back. My goal was to do 5sets of 10reps with 140kg on stiff leg/romanian deadlifts. For example if you use 225lbs on the bar, do the first workout those 10,8,6,4,2 reps with 225lbs, next workout 10,10,8,6,4, next workout 10,10,10,8,6, next workout 10,10,10,10,8, and finally next workout 10,10,10,10,10reps. Then for next workout add weight some 20-25lbs and start again from 10,8,6,4,2 reps... If you know your level right, and start from a good weight you can build to a record breaking 5sets of 10reps on 5 workout's time, or start slightly lighter and do two periods to build to your goal weight's 5sets of 10reps. Worked very well for me, in the deadlifts and dumbell bench presses. |

I had a minute or two, rest between rounds. |

Db floor press -> Kb swing 15/12kg Db's -> 10/8kg Kb 15/12kg -> 10/16kg 15/12kg -> 10/24kg Pullup: 2,2reps Amrap 20min 5Pullups - 5Pushups - 5 Kb swing with 32kg (ca 70lbs) 9 rounds + 5pullups. Not so many rounds, i did at moderate tempo, but i was very satisfied that every pullup round i did full 5reps, i did not have to split at all. (i allways do oldschool way pullups, underhand grip, no kipping) Some strech afterwards |
