IF anyone has any idea, from a practical perspective, upon performing full squats, beyond parallel, I am getting a lot of pain behind the knee when I ascend. I have excellent flexibility, stay on the heels, back arched, knees tracking but i still get this pain. Has a ligament been stretched? Physio has not remedied this nor has deep tissue massage.
any suggestions? see an orthopod?

happy new year

David

ps. I have to get this fixed, I am always working with athletes and prefer to not always do the talking!}

Pain behind the knee with squatting could be a torn meniscus ( cartilage). If therapy has not helped, it may be time to get an MRI or see an orthopod. Good luck.
