Scale Vs Cup

ok then i bought the food scale and what i found out is that i was under eating except in breakfast
-that is why i used to feel full longer after breakfast other than the other meals- and what i
have calculated is that i need 2/3 cup of oats to make 4 blocks which is equivalent to approx 4.4 oz i measured
the 4.4 oz and found out that is was i tiny bit more than the a cup so lets say it is a cup so what does this mean
should i follow the cup or the scale ??? since the cup is less accurate than the scale , yet the scale says more ??

note :

1/2 cup oats = 1 cup cooked oats = 1 block

Re: Scale Vs Cup

i have used all three methods...cup, scale, and utilizing the 9g C= 1 block

in the case of oats, (i use 4 blocks too for this meal), i found that in between 1/2-2/3 cup was pretty exact.....3/4cups, same thing. the oats i use say 27g per 1/2 cup. a 4block C meal of oats would be 36g C.

where are you getting the 4.4 oz from? is that the weight of 2/3cup of oats?

Re: Scale Vs Cup

the 4.4 is the the wieght i calculated the 2/3 cup in oz should be as the 4 tablespoons= 1/4 cup= 2 ounces so i did some math and i found out that 2/3 cup will be 4.4 oz so i put the 4.4 on the scale and found out it is more than a cup :s oops (i just recal. and found out it is 5.3 , damn i am not good at math coz of this damn calculators :s) so what do you think is it better to scale it or use the cup ??

Re: Scale Vs Cup

Mass measurements will always be more accurate than volume measurements for anything other than liquid. It's just not always as convenient, and in many cases the difference between the two measurements won't be enough to greatly skew block size.
