4 minute PR Nik, great work and I bet you hated doing that extra 400m after pacing yourself !! Im going to measure my run by running for 35 seconds at my 400m pace and calling that 200m. It should be accurate.
Oh man it was tough getting the other 400.

I saw your time, still great for the track.

Re: Nik

Huge PR, Nik!

I think I might have cried if I had thought I ran an 800 and had to be turned around. :o

Sorry about your calves! That must hurt!

Re: Nik
"Michael"

Three rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
50 Back Extensions
50 Sit-ups

Time 21:12 PR

Last time was done in 25:15

Thanks Brady for pushing me through it, you kept me going hard!!!

I almost screwed up like only I do. First run I turned arround at the 200 mark and only did a 400, I was leggin it too!! Brady turned me arround for the other 400 when I got back, it almost killed me, I was running.

Back exts were hard only on my legs, I had to stop to shake my calves because they were burning big time!!
4 mins off a pb is fantastic work Nik, really impressive, great work:D

Re: Nik

Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
95 pound Squat snatch
Chest to bar Pull-ups
time 19:59

I had to stop and reset each rep. 95lbs is right at my limit I guess. All though I could tell which lifts I did good and bad. It felt smooth on the good ones, and jerky and clanky on the bads.

Pullups C2B.

Nice, Nik. :)

I think I'm going to try this one today too. But, I'm going to take my time. Form over speed for sure today.

Yea, I had to do the same, speed was not it this morning. At 95lbs, I had to really watch my form. But when I did it went up really nice, and felt good.

Five rounds for time of:
95 pound Sumo-deadlift high-pull, 21 reps

time- 20:35

Scott Jenkins 04-27-2009 11:36 AM

Re: Nik

Whats the ring grip? I heard of the hook grip with the thumbs under fingers. It was a killer on the grip in the last few rounds, I had to use a foam bar that they use in boxercise or something, its fat and hard to hold onto. Good work McNik.

Congrats on the PR Nik, Shoulder Press is really hard to achieve PR's, at least for me.

Scott Jenkins 04-28-2009 12:10 PM

Re: Nik

Shoulder Press PR's are very rare animals, well done for hitting one today Nik you should celebrate with some raw eggs. You have a good bench press also, especially after all the over head pressing.

HAHA, the football was fun, I should have gone heavier, but wasnt sure of repping 135lbs OHS.

No chickens and laying plenty, just no eggs handy yesterday at work.

Nik Nichols 04-29-2009 11:03 AM

Re: Nik

I have not done any workout what so ever, I did pick up the bar to try out the proper grip for shoulder press, but no lift.....So far.

Re: Nik

"Elizabeth"

21-15-9 reps of:
Clean 135 pounds
Ring dips

25:17

It was an utter train wreck. I don't know what happened to me. I got stuck on the second round on rep 7, I couldn't squat or power clean it. i tried like 9 attempts to the point of almost scaling it.

I ended up power cleaning it and squat after. It was bad. I should have scaled it, I had no bisnuess doing it today. What a mess.

Scott Jenkins 04-30-2009 12:02 PM

Re: Nik

Damn Nik, massive respect for getting through it without scaling, sounds like you had a great battle today with the bar. Those ring dips were a nice rest but unfortunately only a short one.

Thanks Scott, it was rough. The dips in were a breeze compared to the cleans.

"Tabata Something Else"

pullups 18,17,11,10,10,11,10,10=97
pushups 20,15,13,11,11,11,10,10=101
situps15,15,17,16,12,11,13,12=111
squats16,15,16,15,15,15,16,18=126
total 434

I was suprised the squats were the highest, it goes to show you how good steady reps work.

Dang Nik, good job on not quitting on elizabeth!! I know that had to have been frustrating as hell! I almost got kicked out of my globo yesterday for "slamming the weights" during elizabeth lol.

Awesome job on the Cleans Nik, way to push through it brother! And great job on the Tabata score!

IT was tough, I didn't realize that the first time I did it, I mu=istakenly did power cleans. I went at it thinking I did squat cleans, it was BAD.
Awesome job on the Cleans Nik, way to push through it brother! And great job on the Tabata score!
Thanks Nick, but I didn't get Scott!!:ranting2:

Well it was a BAD weekend, we had a bad storm blow in Sat, blew some big branches down, blew our fence down, we were our of power Sat and Sun, came back on arround midnight last night.

Oh I was out on the road with my 2yo son whan it hit, straight line wiends, hail. I could hardly see the road for a bit. We made it fine, My son was great through it all, laughed at it.

oh yea, I'm all over it. I have a plan, we will see how it works out.

Nik Nichols 05-05-2009 10:45 AM

Re: Nik

Ten rounds for time of:
3 Weighted Pull-ups, 45 pounds
5 Strict Pull-ups
7 Kipping Pull-up

52 rounds

time was 15:03

Last time I did this on the rings, it is a whole lot easier on the bar.

I also tried a kind of knee up and then sort of kip hip thrust with the 45lbs pullups. It worked good, I don't know if it was cheating, if it is I wont do it next time.

I was doing the pullups and it kind of started as a natural reaction to get that dang weight moving, then I realized I could pull the weight high enough to get over the bar. Scott?
