Hey all, thanks for checking out my post.

I went climbing, at a local rock gym, a couple of weeks ago and did something to the ring finger on my left hand. The finger is swollen, and has been for the last three weeks, and I have soreness to the touch on the inside of the palm between the first and second knuckle.

This pain, and an accompanying weakness in the finger, is preventing me from performing any pulling movements without assistance for my grip from a set of lifting straps. So far I have found it nearly impossible to perform; Pull-ups, Deadlifts, Cleans, or any other movement requiring me to squeeze the bar to apply force.

Short of completely avoiding movements that involve a pulling motion, does anyone have any suggestions as to treatment, or ways to train around the injury?

Holy hell...have you seen a doctor? Sounds like you ruptured something or had an avulsion.

Define "did something".

Casey is right. See a doc.

May be avulsion to flexor digitorum superficialis tendon....

You should definitely see a hand specialist though. Not really something to play around with if you've had significant swelling for more than 1 week. So... you're already behind the game at getting it checked
