I was hoping to never have to post in this section but here I am.

I am doing squats 3 days/week and I was up to about 330 pounds...5 rounds of 5. I was starting to have some pain in the top part of my knee cap in the area of the patellar tendon.

I am still squatting 3 times a week but have backed off in weight to 255.

I am thinking my knees are going in front of my toes when I squat.....but if they do....it's not by much.

I don't like completely stopping an exercise because of a little discomfort....I've done squats on and off since high school through college and I'm now 33. I've never felt this before.

Any suggestions?

Aggressively stretch out your quads and hip flexors.

Start doing box squats or specific glute/hamstring work such as glute-ham raises, hip thrusts, lunges (far stepping), etc.

Most knee pain is because of imbalance & tight muscles. Not enough posterior chain action and too much anterior. Gonna try to reverse that with the above.

If that doesn't solve it then we'll go from there, eh..
