View Full Version : PVC rollouts

I had about 3-4' of 2" PVC left over from making my parallels. Lately I have taken to using this PVC to roll out the muscles in my legs. This is really effective on the IT, and you can definitely tell when you hit a trigger point.
I'd recommend this for the folks who might be having some knee pain.
It's similar to The Stick, which is basically a flexible self-massage tool, yet much cheaper and lower tech.

That is a gem, thanks Steve. My IT band is screwed and am constantly looking for ways to help it from "locking up". This worked really well!

I've found that softer materials just don't do the trick. The PVC is painful, and I have to really work to keep my leg relaxed while I roll it out.
Here's a pretty thorough link about foam rollers and their use

Steve, once again, thanks a million, i'm a simple guy so pictures help a great deal!
Found i was doing it slightly incorrectly, but armed with the info i'll be able to effectively roll the baby out!
Pain is indeed order of the day with the pvc, but it kinda lets me know i'm hitting the right spot! I know, i'm weird like that!
