Great thread... I was hoping someone might be able to break down the basics of IF. Where can I get more info?? What's the basis, benefits, etc.? Does it work with a Zone diet? Double your blocks, I guess? This thread also brings up some questions, the same as you all, about how to schedule the workouts.

I am fasting right now, just for three or four days ( i am on day two) to kind of "cleanse." Any advice on the "break out" day?? Thanks a lot in advance.

Mike

Also, Greg E, how did Kurits schedule his workouts while doing this? Just follow the normal 3 on/1 off WOD schedule, or exercise on fasting days/easting days?

Michael,

Take a look at the thread I started called "Summary of IF information".

There were some very informative posts and links that will help.

Jonathon - Kurtis put 60 lbs on his deadlift in a couple months, lost 13 lbs, primarily midsection padding, and his CF storm times are holding steady. More info in a future PM issue.

Michael - check out the Performance Menu Q& A (www.performancemenu.com) and a couple threads on this board as Jason says.

David - don't have all that info yet, but it will be included in a follow-up article in the Performance Menu most likely in issue 17.

Greg,

Awesome stuff! Looking forward to the next PM. Tons of praise to you and the NorCal crew for putting out such a wealth of information for an extremely nominal price.

I don't have a lot of time, but I'll try to hit the highlights. Most weeks I train Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. Thursday and Sunday are my rest days.
As for the meal timing with training. My fasts run from about noon to noon. So on an eat day I will have eaten in the morning shortly after I get up, usually a quick protein shake is all my stomach can handle at 5am. I do my WOD around 9am and eat my last meal at noon. Then I start the fast. WOD the next morning in a fasted state at about 9am and eat again at noon. So you still get your post WOD meal if you work it right.

Kurtis,

Sounds like a solid plan. I appreciate you taking your time to post your routine. I still can't get over gaining 60lb on your DL while losing 13 pounds..... Great work!
