Open gym

Step back lunges
3 x 10 - 45# - Alternating legs, of course. Need to work on lateral strength...will be doing these pretty often.

Over head squat 5-5-5
Loads: 95#-125-145 - could have gone heavier, need to give myself more credit!

Front squat 3-3-3-3
Loads: 185#-205-215-235 - light, see above.

Back squat 5-5-3-3-1
Loads: 245#-255-275-295-325 - this was good. Starting to rediscover my comfort zone under heavier weights.

Hanging squat cleans 3-3-3-3
Loads: 155#-185-185-205 - last couple of sets felt heavy, but only because I had been at it for almost two hours by now. Feeling the heavy stuff!

50 double-unders
10 left arm KB hang clean and press
10 right arm KB hang clean and press
10 KB swings
*all KB work at 20kg
Time: 10:55 - the time off from the gym helped me today! I think my time was the fastest of the day!

3 sets:
10 seated bicep curls - 25#
30 second rest
12 green band triceps extensions
30 second rest
Done.

Step-back lunges 4 x 6 -
Loads: 115# - I have a real issue with ham string mobility that this movement exposes. I should work on that!

3 rounds, 1 minute each
Battle-ropes
Dead lifts (225#)
Rope climbs (I subbed-in lying rope pull-ups...?)
100 foot shuttle runs - with a 30# med ball
Total reps: 60 - I just called each round of battle ropes 1 rep...

Got some lifting coming up this weekend.

Warm-up on the assault bike...

Back squats 2-2-2-2-2
Loads: 285#-305-315-335-355 – bigger weights than I have worked with for a long time!!!

Power clean 3-3-3-3-3
Loads: 155#-155-165-185-205 – jerk on last rep of all sets.

Clean and jerk singles
Loads: 205#-215-225-245

Snatch tech work
(empty bar power snatch, overhead squads, lighter squat snatches etc…)

Snatch singles
Loads: 115#-135-155-175(1 for 2)-195(0 for 2) – tired at the end, could not do more...

Lots of leg mobility work to finish off, hoping to stay healthy for a long run.

Power snatch singles: 135#-165-175

Snatch: 165#-185-195(0 for 2)-205(0 for 1)-155-165 - had the heavier stuff locked out over head, just couldn't stand it up. Need to work on over head squats.

20 45# dumb bell squat cleans

A nice workout, but didn’t do that well on the snatches today…was kind of rushed for them.

Been a long time since I got to the gym! To come back to this monstrosity was not cool! I have played quite a bit of hockey over the past couple of weeks, but I have found that CrosFit prepares one for hockey better than hockey prepares one for CrossFit!

AMRAP 45

50 air squats
50 Sit-ups
30 Burpees
30 alt Lunges
Score: 2 rounds +1000m + 15 squats – I am going to be feeling this for a couple of days!

Looking to use the arbitrary turning of the calendar for some motivation. Going to make 2017 way better than the hot-mess that 2016 was!

1st – Push-ups: 10-10-8-7-7 - first two sets my feet were elevated
2nd – Pull-ups: 7-7-7-7-7 - got the first two sets unbroken.
3rd – Wall balls: 13-13-11-10-10 - still not a fan of wall balls!

Accessory Work

10 seated DB supt grip bicep curls
30 sec rest
8 Lt leg Bulgarian split squats
30 sec rest
10 Bent over DB row
30 sec rest
8 Rt leg Bulgarian split squats

All done...didn't follow the script perfectly, but did the work.

Its been a while since I posted....seems to be a theme for me!

Anyway, with work being super-busy and with school and all, been tough to make time for the gym. I have a few un-logged work outs, but I have been out of the gym for the most part all year.

I did just get back from a two-week trip to Japan, where I walked and walked and walked! Probably about 10km a day, actually wound up walking off about 8 pounds while there!

Trying to get back at things...

Rounds: 4+20 KBs + 7 wood choppers - good work on stabilizers and glutes!
