14.3 funny thinking about it

So with D/U's, Snatch, C2B and OHS gone what will be the next workout?
You know we still have Burpees, Thrusters, T2B, STO or C and J, Box jumps, Muscle ups, Wall balls, Deads or push ups left.

At this point, I could care less. This has been the worst programing ever. I have completely lost interest.

As an average crossfitter, I rather like the programing this year.

I agree, I like the challenge right out of the gate.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

Crossfit likes the push-pull superset, such as thrusters+pull ups and WB+muscle ups. But both of those are eliminated because we've already had c2b and already had a repeat. So I think maybe a long workout of thrusters and muscle ups may be in store.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

I'll give it a try:

Either a short one like:
7 min AMRAP, 3, 6, 9, 12 etc.
Deadlifts @ 225 lbs
T2B

Or a long one like:
20 min AMRAP
12 Deadlifts
8 Cleans (or Hang Cleans)
4 Shoulder-to-Overhead
(3 rounds @ 115 lbs, then 3 rounds @ 135, then 3 rounds @ 155 lbs, then AMRAP @ 185 lbs)

Weights and numbers of reps might be different

What is wrong with the first two workouts?

Me too. I seems that they're programming to include as many people as possible using as little equipment as possible.

I see GHD sit-ups happening very soon.

There is no way they would put GHD's in the Open. To many people can seriously hurt themselves on those. Now, that is not saying they wouldn't put them. But, it would be stupid and I would seriously start having doubts about the care of the beginning CrossFitters that are doing this. Other lifts and movements can be done with some error, but a GHD can cause major problems. My two cents.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

GHD movements probably won't show up in the Open, unless the prescribed movement is to parallel and not below. That would limit excessive ROM and injury risk.

Also, it's a funky piece of equipment the at-home video crowd may not have access to. Then you'd see a bunch of videos with jimmy rigged, DIY stuff that may or may not fall within the standard.

Also, if you're an affiliate who has one or two GHDs, how are you going to do heats for 10-15 athletes per hour. That would be a pain in the neck.

So I just don't see GHD making it into the Open.
