Clearly that individual would have a major advantage over other women.

Just a thought as I am not really familiar with how the hormone therapy works.
The Olympic policy on transgender says they have to be on hormone replacement for two years before competing as the new gender. http://www.outsports.com/2011/9/12/4...ender-athletes (wfs)

Reassignment surgery and hormones don't change DNA. She will always be XY.

Re: Transgender Games Competitor?

Take Dan Bailey as an example, top male competitor never going to win the games. Would people be ok if he went and had surgery and tried to compete as a female in 2 years? I highly doubt it.

Good point. By the standard CF has set, the answer would have to be yes. Though the Hormone treatments might violate the drug policy...

From what I've seen, he's finished in the top 10 at the Games the past couple (3?) years. Curious as to why you think he'd never win?

Re: Transgender Games Competitor?

Seeing a picture of her, she has been on her female hormones long enough to lose her "man" features. I wonder if it has been long enough to have reversed what testosterone did to her male body? I really don't know. 8 years of no testosterone production but instead taking estrogen injections. I am sure CrossFit Inc would have consulted one or more doctors before making their decision. If so, then they are on solid ground. If not, well, that could be bad.

I just picked a top guy who has been consistent, but honestly while he has been consistent he is still far behind the top tier guys and I can't see him passing any of them.

Did you see Dan's 14.1? Lol He might be ready this year! Him or Danny Broflex.

Didn't he win the open a few years ago yet? The Open is a poor gauge of how someone will do at the Games.

Re: Transgender Games Competitor?

I think she identifies as a transgender; she doesn't identify as a female. If she identified as a female as she claims, she never would have asked the question, made an issue of it, or sued. She would have registered as a female, competed as a female, and never brought it up.
