I'm not a huge fan of vegetables, but the ones I do like, (brocoli, cauliflower, etc.) I seem to have to eat by the ton on the Zone diet. I like fruits more and they seem to be a cheaper alternative to vegetables as far as the Zone goes. Is there anything wrong with eating more fruits than vegetables? Thanks.

What I would recommend is try to get a healthy amount of vegetables with each meal. So eat a reasonable quantity of veggies, and then fill the rest of your blocks with fruit.

I eat 4 meals (5-4-5-4 on blocks) and eat either a 1/2 pound of broccoli or green beans with each meal. Pretty small block wise, but pretty large quantity wise. Then grapes, strawberries, and apples to get the rest of my blocks.

Michael, I was in the same position as you for a while, but shifted over to veges by working out tasty ways of cooking them. Now, I'd be up to about 70/30 : veges/fruit by doing what Chris does.

It's not really an answer to your question though.

Fruits are a bit lower in vitamin and mineral content, on average, as compared to vegetables. This combined with the fact that they are generally higher on the Glycemic Index (which means you will eat much less volume of fruit than vegetables for the same block alocation) means that you will likely be a bit nutritionally deficient if the balance sways too far to that side.
