Enter the Zone or Mastering the Zone?

Which book would you recommend? I am looking at Amazon.com right now and there is one person suggesting that one should buy Mastering The Zone and not buy Enter the Zone.

I, however, tend to want to get advice from those here because this is the culture of which I wish to be a part.

Mastering is a better "how to"... Enter is the original and goes more into the "science" (you can decide how scientific it is) of the Zone.

So it depends on what you're looking for. In retrospect, I'd probably have gone with Mastering. I've read both, but neither understood all of the science, nor necessarily bought into all of it.

On the other hand, I've tried the Zone (and still at it) and it works; Mastering was plenty for that.

I'm digging what I'm reading in Enter the Zone. I am really anal, so I had to read all the first seven chapters before I could get to the meat and potatoes of it all.

Now, I would like to get to that part and start with the diet.

I never knew that the Zone Perfect bars I've been buying as my snacks were actually part of the program. I just bought them for years because they taste good.

I just finished "The Omega Rx Zone" but if you've read either of the ones mentioned then you've covered it. The only difference is Sears recommends adding fish oil to your Zone program along with the reasons why. Actually I would recommend it most to someone who hasn't read any of them.

If you just want to get into it get Mastering the Zone, my copy lives on my kitchen bench becasue i think it has the better reciepes. If you want to know at science and background go Entering.

I just payed $25 for "Entering the Zone" at Books a Million last night.

I should know better by now. Always go online!

As far as those books, I got "Enter the Zone" and "A Week in the Zone." I'm rereading "A Week" to get me back on track and hopefully turn the family around as well.

I think the thread you are referring to is the "Codex" thread. As far as I know, no one is pulling fish oil off the shelves. As a matter of fact, I picked a bunch up at Target for $1 per 30 capsules. Also, check out Consumer Reports. They did an article on fish oil espousing the benefits and did a comparison of major brands. Turns out all brands contain the same concentration and ratios of fatty acids. They liked the Kirkland/Costco brand because it was the best value overall.
Sorry for the ramble, but hopefully it addresses your concerns.
