I'm reading the inaugural issue of "The Performance Menu" and saw mention of cinnamon increasing insulin sensitivity. Anybody (paging Robb Wolf...) care to elaborate on this? My Google search turned up one study, but I was hoping there might be some more info (dosage, frequency, any possible downsides).

By the way, I'm very excited about this new monthly. First issue was great and I've already subscribed. First issue is free so check it out: http://www.crossfitnorcal.com/pmenu/index.php

Also, for those who can't find it in stores, the Icy Point Wild Alaskan Salmon mentioned in the issue is available through Amazon for 1.29 per 14.75 ounce can. Ordering food through Amazon usually entails a hefty S&H charge, so buy in bulk!

Hey Chris-

Cinnamon appears to work as an insulin analog but without decreasing insulin sensitivity. It may in fact increase insulin sensitivity as both blood glucose levels and triglycerides decrease with the consumption of ~ 1/2-1.5 tsp/day.

Cinnamon has some nice antioxidant properties as well.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the journal!

The journal was fab. I really liked the recipes and I thought the deVany interview was right on...

I enjoyed the inaugural issue too, Robb.

Not so sure about the "easy" capoiera move, Queda De Rins. I had a quick look at the steps, without reading in-depth and I wasn't finding it the slightest bit easy.

Love the idea of the Journal and looking forward to more nutrition ideas; I've been "in the Zone" for about 3 months now, but I'm a way off Paleo.

Glad to hear about the cinammon; I have it on my oatmeal every morning...

Thanks for the kind words guys. Dan thank you for help on the De Vany interview. There is some amazing information there.

Pat- the QDR is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. It is a support move with the weight ballanced on the hips. In future issues Ido will be walking folks through various transitions and things like press to handstand from the QDR.

HI - I can't help myself but I have to say something here. I have a goat named Cinnamon and everytime I see this heading I think about goats. And then go, "oh yeah, right - they mean the spice". It takes only a second but I do it every time! So, for example, when Pat says he is going to put Cinnamon on his oatmeal - I have a whole different visual than the rest of you all!
