Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread

Has it been decided or posted *where* the individual regionals will be held? I am specifically interested in South Central. Will it be in Tomball, TX again?

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread

I just registered for the Open, but then I was dismayed to see the Master's division starts at age 45!

It seems a bit unfair that at 42 I'm being asked to perform as good or better than a 21 year old. Every other sport I've ever participated in start the Master's Category at age 35. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Here's an interesting link based on the data from last year... http://xfit2011.blogspot.com/2011/04...rformance.html (WFS)

So there's not much hope for the 35+ crowd.

That reminds me, what happened to all those statisticians they brought in to crunch numbers from the open last year?

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread

Yep, 7 out of the 60 guys that qualified last year were my age or older. Ten years ago I was a national level athlete and much more machine like. Now I am a pretty regular guy, and I know how much harder it is to recover and train with a family, work etc. I would still love to make it as a 35 year old this year. I too am hoping they change some of the master's qualifications so that I can be a "young guy" again. But yeah, it'll be tough slugging to compete with 24-25 year olds.

As if Reebok and Crossfit weren't making enough money already, they doubled the entry fee? Fantastic.

16 hours of high level mathematics and atomic physics keeps me away from forums. My reign of terror will return in the summer.

They need a 40yrs + division. I would soooo be out there looking for a fake ID if they did.

I am still a bit confused on how the teams work for the open. Can anyone clarify how it works? Thanks!
