Crossfit on NBC's The Doctor's

So I ran across this little article online

http://www.dietsinreview.com/diet_co...on-the-doctors

Apparently there will some sort of "crossfit chellenge" between Travis Stork and Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels...morbid curiosity will get me to tune in...

OMG
I can't wait for Jillian Michaels to show off her ****-poor O-lifting and kettlebell technique and say, "This is Crossfit."

Perfect, more free national advertising! Even if it's ugly and bad crossfit, it should be a win for most affiliates.

Yeah I had the same thought. Like it may be some bastardization of Crossfit that makes it on air. However I'll still watch. On a somewhat related topic apparently the other trainer from that show Bob Harper, has begun to Crossfit. I think he's actually working out at a box. So as Aushion says it sounds like it could be a win for affiliates out there, at the very least it may get someone to stop by their local Crossfit gym next time they drive by.

Re: Crossfit on NBC's The Doctor's

They should do something very basic that most people unfamiliar with CF can watch and say, "That looks hard, but I'd like to try it."

How about Murph. Actually, if they got into his story at all (would only need a 60-90 second lead in, I'd think) that would be a good intro into WHY we do certain workouts. On paper, it looks very simple... unfortunately, since I am guessing it would take Jillian over 50 minutes to complete it, that will never happen.

Fran would be good.

Helen could be better - especially since it uses a KB, and she has that cr@ppy KB video out there...

Murph would be interesting as would Angie or Cindy.

However, something like Jackie, Helen, or Kelly would incorporate some basic barbell or KB work.

Filthy 50 or the 300 come to mind as well.

FYI - Bob Harper is regularly training at Brick CrossFit in LA and is currently drinking the Kool Aid.

Re: Crossfit on NBC's The Doctor's

Just read an article and here's the workout they'll be doing

DOCTORS CrossFit WOD (Workout of the Day) - repeat six times:

•Box Jumps – 30 seconds
•Sumo Deadlift High Pole – 30 seconds
•Push Press – 30 seconds
•Ball Slams – 30 seconds

Yes it actually say "Pole" in the article

I'm guessing they'll be counting reps. So what's the name of this FGB light?

Either way this should be good for all you affiliates out there.

If anybody wants to watch the link it is here, I think it is WFS, http://www.thedoctorstv.com/videolib/init

Looks like Bob gave Jillian a little more weight than she can handle.

Re: Crossfit on NBC's The Doctor's

Folks like Jillian remind me of a nickname I heard at my L1 cert - "DMO"... display model only.

Great exposure, poor movement. Jillian's ability to recover was... well, it wasn't good.
