I'm having extreme wrist pain on front squats. I can’t come close to cocking my wrists that far back. When I go heavy, it's unbearable so I do the cross grip. I want to be able to grip it properly because this same wrist pain inhibits several other exercises that put me in the same position, such as cleans. Any suggestions?

I experience the same problem and resorted to cross grip. I tried stretching my wrists in the direction they would be bending and that helped but I'm thinking I'll just need to keep on stretching until they become strong and flexible enough to handle it.

I had the same problem a while ago and the good CF community was a great help (no surprise). Here's the thread (WFS) http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/22/35903.html I still have discomfort but flexibility has gotten much better, thus overall form is better; and I'm hitting PRs every couple weeks because of it. |
