Josh Bridges

I know he is ONLY the 2nd FITTEST MAN on the planet, but can we get some more interviews and maybe a journal article on him? I think a lot of Active Duty MIL would be interested in his training and nutrition plan.

As an AD Sailor I know I struggle with these things - especially while deployed, and I am not the only AD person doiing CF!

I heard that a lot throughout the games, I do not have proof of it but more than one has said he is or was.

Pretty quick rudimentary search turned up this. I'm sure there are better sources, but this one would seem to confirm that he is/was a Seal.

Re: Josh Bridges

Yep, he is a SEAL.

If you want to get an idea about how he trains I'd recommend checking out the website for CF Invictus and emailing one of their coaches about it. Invictus has a lot of stud athletes and a solid affiliate team, and from what I understand CJ (the owner, and a pretty bright dude) writes fairly individualized programming for most or all of his competitor types.

Re: Josh Bridges

a bit tongue in check ( as I ex army SF) but SEALS are touted as the "fittest of the fit" - so to lose by that big a margin has to raise questions that have been raised by other posters

What questions? Bridges lost to Froning who has basically smoked everyone for two years straight. He's a professional CFer, while Bridges obviously has other important demands on his time.

But if you noticed, Bridges destroyed everyone on the first Games workout, which was right up a SEAL's alley. I'm guessing he's logged quite a bit more time doing ocean swims and beach runs than anyone else who competed.

I don't see any shame in placing 2nd out of the tens of thousands who started the whole Open competition back in March, and it's definitely not a knock on the SEALs in any way.
