Re: 5 exercises for awesome Abs

My favourite core exercises are windshield wipers, rollouts, dragon flags and toes-to-bar exercises. GHD sit-ups are great, but I don't have access to a GHD machine. I liked the band resistance exercise, that was pretty unique.

Overall, not bad. However, I think it's probably a good idea to use different words in some of your descriptions- I don't think I've heard the word "abs" used so many times in one video lol. Perhaps refer to the individual muscles, and describe what they do.

Re: 5 exercises for awesome Abs

Certain athletes (such as those involved in combat sports) require extra core training. You can't stand after a well-placed left hook to the body unless you spend considerable time fixing that weakness. Most boxers and kickboxers also have great 6-packs. I don't think that's a coincidence. As such, if you want to develop a great midsection, then train it. Having said that though, yes, front squats, deadlifts etc all develop good strength via core stabilization. It's just a good idea to not limit yourself to specific means of training.

And yes, having low bodyfat is very helpful for having visible abdominals. But even if you get low BF you still need muscle there in order to have a 6-pack going on.

Re: 5 exercises for awesome Abs

With regard to the "exercises", no offense guys but it felt like I was watching a video from men's health magazine. I mean really, those are the five you came up with?

How about:
1) deadlift (all variations - except sdhp. that's not a variation it is a bastardization)
2) squat (all variations)
3) standing press
4) weighted pullups
5) weighted walks (all variations)

Those would not only be more effective for the abz (and please stop saying "burn" when talking about movements, it give me chills and not the good kind) they would or at least should more closely fit in to what is presumably your methodology of training.

Bottom line, adding a kettlebell to a crunch doesn't make it eleet. It is still just a crunch.
