Hardest workout you've ever done?

In terms of sheer physical pain and mental endurance, what's the hardest workout you've ever done?

For me, it's probably 200 kettlebell swings for time. Massive oxygen debt, heart rate through the roof (solidly over 190 for most of it), muscle fatigue, lactic acid, body overheating, grip failing - it still haunts me in my nightmares.

45 basketball "suicides", all timed. I think the time was 30 or 35 seconds. If you failed to complete in the required time you did another as fast as you could (coach;s judgement). You were glad when someone failed near the end as it gave you a brief breather.

Re: Hardest workout you've ever done?

Several other threads are out there that deal with this same topic if you're interested in looking at those.

As far as the question, going sub 7:00 on a 2k row.

Don't know what would be second for me but whatever it would be its not close.

Rowing I can live with but I have yet to break 7:00. Just did my first 2k a couple months ago so had no idea of what pace to try and maintain and I got a 7:10.

Anyone tried doing 3 rounds of filthy fifty, unbroken, wearing a 40kg weight vest, while on fire? That might be quite tough.

Quite a few workouts from Military and Mountain Athete qualify in that category.

Re: Hardest workout you've ever done?

Did a 20 Story stair climb with a 45lb Sandbag last week in a competition. Horrible. Destroys your body but even more mentally since it feels like your doing terrible and falling way behind even though your doing fine. Wouldnt be nearly as bad if it was open but sucks when you dont see or hear or anyone inside the tiny cramped stairwell... Tough stuff.

Re: Hardest workout you've ever done?

Did one the other day, Lt. called it the "50s" workout. Something like this:

Wearing full turnouts and SCBA.

Climb tower 4 times

Shuffle lap around training grounds (about .2 mile)
50 pushups
50 v-ups (frog situps)

Shuffle lap
50 thrusters with SCBA pack
50 jumping jacks

Shuffle lap
50 plank pushups (brutal)
50 squats

SHuffle Lap
Hit Kaiser sled 4 times

SHuffle lap
50 burpees
50 mountain climbers

Did about 3/4 of it, then pulled hose all day. It was a rough one.
