No heads up before another $1000 affiliate fee hike!?

I was two months out from affiliating and just saw today on the affiliate page that the affiliate fee is now $3000 a year effective Jan 1st! Unreal..

the other affiliates don't necessarily know or care. old affiliates have historically grandfathered in at their old rate.

i imagine they didn't and don't. Their prices are locked in from the time they affiliated.

I expected this to happen I just didn't expect it to happen without at least a month's notice or something!

I've been all over the "running a crossfit facility" section for the last year and there was never a mention of it.

HQ does not care what you think... as long as you pay.

Not sure if that was a shot at CFHQ or not. It's supply and demand, and people will pay for it. Not sure how they could possibly "care" or even know all of whom may consider becoming an affiliate in the near future.

I definitely understand the supply and demand bit and it's not going to stop me from affiliating, I guess I just thought that something like:

"lock in your $2000 affiliate rate now! prices will change as of Jan 1st"

would've been cool for people about to affiliate.

Where were/are you in the affiliation process? There are lots of sources of information for affiliates and potential affiliates other than this forum. Perhaps the information was posted to one of those less widely read sources.

Ordering equipment in two weeks, (decided to go small as you, Brian Stump and others suggested - in order to keep costs down!) drafting my affiliate essay and negotiating terms on a lease.

If they did post it somewhere else that's less widely read, then i'm not sure what kind of sense that makes. How's that going to help anyone?

Also what are these less widely read places? I thought I knew about everything!

Do you mean sites like AgainFaster, Rogue, CFLA, Skip's site?

There's the affiliate blog on this site, for one. That's where I'd expect such announcements to appear. I don't know what email lists there might be for affiliate owners, but that would be another option.
