Nervous!!! Ha ha. Have yiou seen the gym jones clip when Mark Tweight says: "If your not nervouse before training there is something wrong"
I believe thats true. Nerves are a good thing so long as you can control them.

Get under 1:20 my man

Very interesting!!

I always limited my strides and focused on harder pulls instead, I guess I should go harder FASTER.

I will get my time done soon!

1:17 is very impressive
There are loads of theories on stroke rate and power etc.

My theory is simple. Get it done as fast as you can and get off that machine.

I was thinking about rowing some 250m intervals. I like the 30 second idea. I've taken to counting strokes to get me through because rowing just hurts so much.
Counting strokes is one of my old favourites. Sets of 5 or 10 works a treat for me

Glad you liked the vid. Sorry ab out the cheesy slow motion bit at the end but I thought it worked good and showed I was pretty smoked.

Its recorded on you tube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MErC7fIyUoU

Look forward to hearing other results.

Also if you have time give the 30 second row a shot and see how many meters you can cover. Its a good little tester.
Nice. Did you do it 3 more times (the WOD), or was that a one-off effort?

Re: 500m Row Times

My PB is 1:29.7

Haven't tried an all out in a while. Anyways - what worked for me to get under 90 seconds was to focus on the middle 70% of the pull which is where most of the power comes from. So, I shortened my finish and my catch so that during the 500 I had more cycles through my power zone ....

I haven't been able to break 7 minutes on a 2k though .... the closest I've come is 7:00.2!!!

Does it hurt more when you allow less "recovery" time per stroke?

Re: 500m Row Times

1:35 is my PR so far. Here were my comments:

"Spontaneous Max Effort Row after that terrible row/run WOD yesterday. 1:35, new PR. Tasted a little blood but not too bad otherwise. "

haha, the things crossfit makes me say.
