Best WOD for shoulders

Hi, I'm a little out of sync with the WOD's at the moment, but wondered if anyone knew which of the named WOD's would be best for impoving shoulder strength/range?

They are my main problem area so thought i'd start trying to incorporate a shoulder workout once a week.

Cheers

Neil

Pullups, pushups, handstand pushups, dips, muscle ups, overhead squats, shoulder press/push press/push jerk... There's tons of shoulder work in Crossfit.

However, doing a "shoulder day" sort of misses the point. The goal is overall fitness, not "better shoulders" (or legs, or arms, or whatever).

Press: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1
Push Press: 3, 3, 3, 3, 3
Push Jerk: 5, 5, 5, 5, 5

I think that's how it goes. But like Katherine says, you're kind of missing the point. If you want stronger shoulders, do a linear progression.

I don't agree Scott a.

There is no real great "cf wod" that will specifically help with shoulder strenght/range more then doing simple linear progression with the shoulder press and flexibility work (see Kelley Starret's articles in the CFJ for more here).

I think we are on the same page. We both recommended a linear progression. My WOD suggestion was a tad facetious.

I'd vote for Kettlebell work. One-handed C&J, Snatches, push press, press, thrusters, TGU's... the supporting muscles & soft tissues required to balance the loads will help your shoulders immensely. And any disparities in strength form side to side will be exposed and inescapable.
