Grays Diet Planner Spreadsheet

I recently released a quality diet planning spreadsheet into the public domain.

It's main features include :
- one of the most accurate energy expenditure calculators available. Many people who try to lose weight via exercise without due consideration to Calorie intake, have their eyes opened by this worksheet.

- 7 day menu creator

- generated shopping list

- wt loss/gain progress tracker

- concise MET table

It is appropriate for building diet plans in alignment with all diet types : Paleo, Atkins, Zone, Ornish, conventional.

I am a physiologist and physiotherapist in Australia and have used it with elite athletes for several years in planning energy and food intake during bulking, tapering, event and post event recovery.

It is a mature xls, and has been run on excel 97,03,07, though will not work on Macs and Linux without a windows emulator and excel.

It is fully compliant with metric and imperial (US) measures.

I'd be interested in user's opinions.

Cheers
Bruce Gray

Clear your browser cache and try again Jessica.
I just test downloaded it on two systems.
If you have a slow or flakey net link, maybe that corrupted the download process.

You might want to mark your link as "Work and Family Safe" (WFS) lest it get pulled.

Yes, the link is free of overt or subliminal sex, religion, and political content, nor is it trying to sell anything.

Thx.....the algorithms for calculating energy expenditure are composites of multiple modeling strategies. This makes them more accurate for a greater range of people than Harris Benedict, WHO (Schofield), Miflin St Jeor etc regression equations alone.,,,or the simpler formula that have been used in body building circles for decades. They were developed specifically to facilitate professional athletes in reaching ideal bodyfat with minimal lean tissue loss for major international competitions.

These algorithms have also been used extensively in weight management, and commercial software. I decided to release the spreadsheet into the wild because government initiatives in educating people about diet and energy balance will increase dramatically in the next 2 years. This will include free and authoratative government websites that do what this spreadsheet does...... so there is little commercial value in protecting the intellectual property further.

I should also mention the calculation of recommended Calorie deficits were developed in alignment with both sports medicine and broader physiology literature.
