recommendation for workout pants

Regarding fitting:
As far as I've seen, activewear pants only come in 'generic' S/M/L sizes and are not fit for multiple dimensions (e.g., waist AND inseam).

I have several pairs of small-sized track pants that fit around the waist, but since I have a 30" inseam, they're all a bit long for me.

I'm thinking about just getting simple sweatpants with elastic cuffs at the ankles, but please let me know if you have any other suggestions, especially if there's something out there that's more weather/water resistant.

Thanks!

Re: recommendation for workout pants

I have a pair of Arc'Teryx pants that I bought several years ago; I believe they are the Traverse pants. They're a super light softshell material, probably about as heavy as t-shirt fabric, but a very densely woven nylon. They shed wind pretty reliably and are good for a light shower, although they will soak through. They have great stretch. I have been rock climbing in mine for years, and more recently, have used them for CF-ing in colder weather, for jogging, or for doing SS lifting in the garage. They are indestructible and awesome - favorite pants ever.

I'm not sure if they still make the pants under the same name, but I think they have a virtually identical product still. Of course, being Arc'Teryx, they are going to be spendy, but I feel like they're worth it.

Edit: Also, I have a really short inseam; always have to have my pants hemmed or cuff them, even though I'm about 5'11". The Arc'Teryx's are a tiny bit long, but they have a nice stiff cuff that flips up easily, so they work fine for those of us with the stumpy sticks.

Re: recommendation for workout pants

I just wear running shorts when I lift, sweats when cold. Works for me.

I appreciate the suggestion, but rope workouts like Tommy V now have me reassessing the need for lower leg covering to protect from rope burn!

Re: recommendation for workout pants

Target has some cheap "C9" stretchy pants that fit the bill for me.
