Women's Vibram FiveFingers KSO Trek

First, the bad news: Vibram has no plans to manufacture a women's model of the popular KSO Trek.
The good news is that they would if there was demand for it.

Georgia Shaw, a marketing associate for Vibram says, "...the more we hear back from women who are interested in trying this model, the more likely it is for us to answer that."

There's a really easy way for us to give them the feedback they've asked for.

Sign the petition: Link deleted. You must indicate whether your links are Work and Family Safe (WFS)

thanks,

Tim Donahey

Re: Women's Vibram FiveFingers KSO Trek

(Sorry, it's been awhile since I last posted here.)

The link is indeed work, family and microwave safe. Unless you are Amish, in which case they shun technology.

Here's the link again: http://www.petitiononline.com/LADYTREK/petition.html (yes, WFS)

Birthday shoes also made a blog post about the petition:
http://www.livingbarefoot.info/2009/...ires-petition/ (also WFS)

thanks,

Tim (WFS)

thanks, Tim.

I get really tired of only big-footed people getting the cool gear! But hey, I can buy the leather ones in freakin' PURPLE!

Here's the blog post discussing the reasoning behind the decision not to develop a women's Trek:

(and another shout out to the petition)

Re: Women's Vibram FiveFingers KSO Trek

Almost 80 signatures in 4 days! I call that a major success! But we can't lose momentum now.

I encourage each of you who signed to get two more people to sign our petition too. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and E-Mail are all easy ways to do this.

I've prepared a simple message that you can pass on to your friends:

In response to Vibrams decision not to release a womens model of the Trek will you sign this petition with me: http://tinyurl.com/ladytrek (W/FS)

Feel free to add to it and make it your own.

I really do appreciate the help and hopefully it will have the desired effect.

As a lady once said, "we got nuthin to lose but our shoes!"

-Tim

PS. If you get a moment, read the signature list and see what people are saying: http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...cgi?LADYTREK&1 (W/FS)

Better then signing an on-line petition, which companies tend to ignore fromplaces like petition online, is to write or call them, daily if you have to.

Re: Women's Vibram FiveFingers KSO Trek

SUCCESS!

Because Vibram heard our voices loud and clear we will soon be seeing a KSO Trek in Women's and smaller Men's sizing starting in March 2010. My thanks goes out to everyone who made this possible through your continued support and also to Vibram for remembering us littler guys and gals out there across the land! Cheers!

From Vibram's Facebook Fan Page:

We appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our new products, the Moc, Performa, and KSO Trek. Reading through hundreds of your comments remains an integral part of our Facebook presence.

We would like to take this opportunity to address one of the most frequently recurring topics in this forum concerning the KSO Trek. Originally developed in response to the popularity of the Men’s KSO and user interest in a more rugged model of FiveFingers, the KSO Trek launched in October 2009.

Initially, Women’s KSOs were not as popular as Men’s KSOs, which is why we didn’t invest in Women’s ‘Trek’ tooling and equipment. In the past 6 months, interest in the Women’s KSO has increased, and we’ve heard the many requests for a women’s KSO Trek.

We are happy to announce the release of the Women’s KSO Trek, beginning in late Spring 2010. Additionally, the Men’s KSO Treks will be made available in sizes 38 & 39 beginning in March 2010. We know it’s a while off, but it takes a little while to develop the tooling necessary for this new product. We heard you, and we are moving as fast as we can!

Again, we thank you for your ongoing support and your candid feedback.

Sincerely,

The FiveFingers Team
