Different snatch techniques

Hey,

I've been doing CF since Febuary on my own and wanted to start adding in Coach B's Supplemental Oly Lift program from issue 64 of the journal. But I can't quite figure out the difference between a snatch, pressing snatch, heaving snatch, and snatch balance. Can somebody help me out?

Thanks

Re: Different snatch techniques

The snatch is the full lift, barbell starts on ground and in one fluid motion is lifted to overhead.

The others you mention are skill drills/exercises.

There are videos of pretty much every weightlifting exericse located here (WFS): http://www.performancemenu.com/exerc...on&sectionID=2

Re: Different snatch techniques

yeah those are drills (except the snatch of course)
the snatch balance and three position snatch have helped me the most.
i heard there was a "crossfit room" at the schofield gym with rings and kettlebells. any truth to this?

Re: Different snatch techniques

Thanks guys the link was pretty helpful.

As far as the Crossfit room on Schofeild goes, I don't know yet either. I'm part of 3rd Brigade and still stuck in Iraq for a few more months. I'm hoping to check that out myself. A friend of mine that had to go back early mentioned there being one and if thats the case I would assume its at Martienz Gym by the 24hr Shoppette or possibally across on Wheeler where they did the MMA classes back before I deployed.
