Fast, easy, cheap way to get protein for snacks?

I'm on the zone diet + GOMAD.

Before, for snacks I'd eat sticks of mozzerella cheese for the protein.

But I've started to drink GOMAD, so I'm eliminating dairy from other parts of my diet.

Fat is easy (thank god for nuts!), carbs is pretty easy (a banana or 1 1/2 apples or 3 tangerines, and I'm good). But protein? Without cheese, it became hard.

I don't want any preparation, and I need it to be cheap (fish are out, too much $$$ and I can't eat fish everyday - mercury and all that).

Any ideas?

Eggs.

I just boiled 10 of 'em for breakfast the next days. Cost me just over $1.

You can get two 18 packs for under $5.

I like eggs, but you can't get a good macronutriet ratio. One egg has like 4.5g fat, 7 grams of protein, and 1 gram of CHO. That's 3 fat blocks and 1 protein block. Canned salmon is cheap and has a lot of Protein, some have like 35-40g per can.

Ditch the yolk and it's 100% protein.

Try turkey or chicken deli meat too.

No way, bananas is a easy 3 blocks of carbs, and I like 'em.

I'm not worried about a clean bulk, just want to keep it fairly healthy.

(As of right now, I'm 124 lbs, 5'10" and ~5% bodyfat. So... yeah.)

Since when are bananas considered "bad" and not part of a clean "bulk"?

John just to let you know we call it strength cycles here. People tend to light torches when you speak of bulking/cutting.

Since the zone block charts list them as unfavorable carbs.

Zone + GOMAD does not make sense.

The Zone "tends" to be a caloric restrictive diet and GOMAD is used to add "cheap" calories to your diet.

If you're goals are to increase your weight, I would suggest eating clean, log your food into Fitday, see how your calories and Macro's break out.

Just my .02.
