Tabata Timer app for T-Mobile G1 (Google Android phone)

I just finished it last night, so it's still a little rough.

Here's the file:

Specify "Interval", "Rest", and "Rounds" in seconds. I left it so you can specify any interval. So for a standard Tabata, you would enter 20/10/8 in the respective fields and click Run. You can hit Cancel at any time to stop it, change the values, and re-run. It uses a simple whistle up to signify start of a round and whistle down to signify start of a rest period.

Make sure you go to Menu, select Settings, then Applications, and check the "Unknown sources" box or it will not let you install it.

Some phones have trouble installing from a web site because the web server does not have a MIME type for apk files. I will get that sorted out with my webhost over the next few days. In the meantime, if you get an "Installation Unsuccessful" message when installing, you will need to download the above file to your PC along with the ADB utility from the Android SDK and install it to your phone from your PC over the USB cable. That always works. I'll post directions if anyone needs it, it's pretty simple.

All issues are fixed, I set the boxes to default to 20/10/8, and it is now uploaded to the Android Market so you can install it directly.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

cool beans (how many other android users are here?)

Can you add an option to change the whistle? it sounds sort of goofy (no offense)

No offense taken.

Next enhancements will be:

User selectable sounds.
A "Round x of y" indicator.
Progress bar for the current round.

Adds:
Round x of y Indicator
Round Status Indicator (Exercise, Rest, or Done)
Progress Bar (shows progress of current round, both exercise and rest)
Jacked up the volume of the whistle

I just uploaded the next version to the Android Market.

Adds:
- Wakelock to prevent the phone from falling asleep
- Loud ringbell/buzzer to replace whistle (everyone hated that)
- Countdown timer
